i had a think about this maybe he'll do 1 of these:

take it off, he returns to his youthful but less powerful self

some how becomes ageless at a certain point

I don't think he'll not be in any future MK's, but Boon + Co have got to a bit of a dead end with Sub-Zero's aging.

Yeah maybe the dragon medallion will have some untapped imortality properties.

I don't know what to think because in his Deception pictures, he looks young again. It's confusigng me so I guess I'll just have to wait and see what the game has in store.

I think they are trying to make Subzero visually resemble a person of ice. Kind of how they made Smoke made of smoke, I think they are giving Subzero a pale color to make him look colder (think of Mr. Freeze in the Batman movie).
EDIT: Another example is Reptile resembling a reptile.

subzero's story card thing does say he discovered some sorta heritage in his freezing abilities..
maybe it has something to do with his aging

Yeah as far as I know the Dragon Medallion sacrifices age for power, Sub-Zero is now a lot more stronger than the Earthrealm buddy characters and his costumes are cool but i don't like him as an old man.

I would've had the Dragon Medallion not have the ageing thing so Sub-Zero looks would still be MK3/4 but still have the power that he has now.

If he became an ice man which the colour of his skin suggests and even immortal as I'd like (Sub-Zero god of Ice) he'd be brilliant, he's diffinately becoming more than a normal human but the old man thing is the wrong way to go about it.

that would be awesome if he became the god of ice or found his heritage to be from the god of ice...maybe he will eventually become completely ice or maybe the amulet will somehow contain his soul so that he becomes anyone who wears it? if you notice in this game he is much much whiter but then again younger looking (less wrinkles) than before

Maybe he's not really growing older but changing. I don't see any wrinkles or anything, just white hair and eyes which could be him just changing into some kind of ice man.
