By now, most people believe that the E3 character select screen for MK:D, which held 24 pictures on it, will be scrapped in favor of a new select screen that has more people on it. Some say it will be 28 or 30. Some say as high as 40+ characters. Still others argue that this is not Trilogy, and that there is no way Boon and company can cram 40 characters, each with 3 styles, unique special moves, and 2 fatalities per into this game.

I am going to submit here, a list of all the fighters for MK:D we have seen in actually seen. Not rumored, not even stated by the creators, just the characters that we have seen in magazines or on the internet.

Well, that's 24. If Onaga is the sub boss, as most people believe he/she/it/that will be, that leaves us with the original number of characters for the select screen, and the original number of characters announced for the game. Mind you these pics can be found in another thread on this site, so if you haven't seen one of these characters, just ask me and I'll find the link for ya.

That said, we have not seen:

Liu Kang
Sektor
Jax
Onaga/Havik: which ever one didn't used to be Skab

Could these characters be hidden? Rumored by not put in? I'm sure there are other characters that were confirmed at one point or another that we haven't heard about either. I have a feeling that Jax, somewhere in the development cycle turned into Darrius, as they perhaps decided that they wanted a new character instead. Just my own theory.

Even if they revise the select screen, how many characters will they honestly have? Because all I can see from the confirmed and seen/confirmed but not seen list is 28. So which of these characters will be hidden? Anyone (like Noob maybe) think that some of the characters we've seen already will become hidden? I'm just curious, because the closer we get to the Oct 4 release date, the more I'm starting to think this 40+ number of characters is a pipe dream. Heck, 30 seems like a pipe dream right now.
