I dont know if anyone else noticed but in chess kombat it appears that the deadpool lvl from mk2 is back. Has anyone else noticed any other returning backrounds??

I think I saw the level from MK2 where Kahn was sitting in his chair with Kano and Sonya chained up. It resembled that level at least. I don't know it was some picture where Ermac was levitating. It looked pretty badass. I'm glad that the Deadpool is back tough.

I'm just excited about playing in that arena (deadpool). It will be cool to see it in 3d. My guess is that if it is in the battles in chess mode, then they will probably use it in the arcade mode too, but who can say.

The Portal from MK2 is also, you can clearly see the portal guards suspended in the air in one of the pictures with chess kombat. Even though we may not be able to play in these levels, it is still really sweet to see them make a cameo in MK:D

they'll prob. be regular stages as well - already we have the Courtyard from MK1 in both chess game and the actual 1 on 1 fighting game too!

"The game's presentation is a standard 3D chess-style grid, with all the pieces appearing as smaller versions of the fighters. The settings for the game offer a tip of the hat to Mortal Kombat's history and feature backgrounds based on arenas from Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat II. The demo features the monk temple from the original MK (complete with clapping monks) and the portal and death pool from MK II. The backgrounds serve double duty, since they are also the arenas you'll fight in when you clash with your foes." - Gamespot -

what does this mean "double duty"?

Lemme help u out there, I think they're referring to the fact that some backgrounds will be used in the Chess Kombat "and" will be the same backgrounds that you then fight in. Thus serving "double duty"

i'm curious how they will adapt the dead pool to a 3d arena considering that u fight on a narrow platform...

I guess just how you see it in the picture. Just make the bridge a lot wider. Would be better.

OMG that is soo cool so this does mean that u will be able to fight at the deadpool again. I just cant wait to see what its going to look like in 3d. I wondor if u can knock each other into the acid during the match or will u have to wait till it says finish him to knock em in. This is so awesome!!

yes and no. take in mind that the deadpool stage was just a narrow bride. if they keep it that way fights in that particular chess game locale could end dangerously fast =D

Sounds like a lot of quick thinking and fast blocking to win matchs in this lvl in 3d. It sounds so awesome and a tense fight!

The Deadpool was my Favorite MK2 stage. Seeing it in 3-D is going to blow my mind. There HAS to be a stage Fatality on that stage! Seeing the acid melting your flesh in 3-D.... man.... OOooooooo MAN! smile

Man I hope that the chess stages can be played in arcade or versus mode. That would be so sweet. Did anyone notice that they remade the stage from MK1 that has the clapping monk's in the background. I forgot the name of the stage, but the guys with the half white and half black masks are back too. Check out the video's to see what I mean.
Hey that's a hint that stage specific fatalities may be performed on chess boards.. maybe..

Yah! That would be soo cool, maybe if it looked like, if anyone seen Tomb Raider The Cradle of Life, at the end Lara knocked the guy into the black acid, and he poped out and his skin was melting away and stuff, it would be cool if it looked like that.

I dont know if thats possible because acording to the movie, the deadpool is on Shang Tsungs ship, but who knows maybe that just not the movie because some of the stuff in the movie didnt follow the game. But eaither way i wouldnt like the idea because they r 2 diff stages from diff game so i dont think it would blend well.
