Well it's obvious that Baraka's the traitor to Mileena. But why would they center a game around this?

its not just centered around those two, the game is about deception..people turning on each other..baraka turns on mileena, sub-zero turned on raiden (see his mkda ending) quan chi turned on shang (or the other way around), etc...

just cause it shows them in the trailer, doesnt mean its about them, i recall the first mkda trailer only haveing scorpion in it..was mkda based on scorpion? nope, it was based on the deadly alliance, shang and quan.

my guess is, they just wanted to show us who some of the returning characters were..simple as that.

But would Mileena be fooled by Baraka. I know Baraka leeches off the most powerful character, but I just can't see him waiting in the shadows WITH Mileena, only to betray her when she hasn't even been around. It would sort of be like Kabal betraying Stryker. It doesn't make much sense.

Mileena betraying Baraka on the other hand makes perfect sense. Mileena would use someone like Baraka to gain power, only for Baraka to discover and challenge Mileena. Maybe Baraka goes to the Dragon King, only for Mileena to use him as a insider, then secretly relay information to her "father" Shao Kahn?

They probaably chose those 2 characters cause hey add a little emotion to the game and everyone loves them...

I think that Baraka has been hiding since MKGold. =\

I think that everyone is just reading too much into this, considering that only 6 or 7 characters are shown, and only 4 are truly confirmed as to their identities. I think it would be logical to wait for more info and characters to be released before we all start running around saying that Sub-Zero and Baraka are trying to conquer the universe together...cuz that sounds ridiculous, and neither one of them have that kind of power.

yeah I admit its hard to resist...but given what little information there is most speculations are downright ridiculous.

Yeah, speculation just like guessing and brainstorming your ideas until you find one that just might fit the story.

I think Baraka's just in the trailer to get everyone on the net talking. I personally think the deception will be much higher up on the MK ladder. Maybe even Kitana/Shao Kahn could join forces?

Just another quick thought, it says a sinister "force". Maybe they could be Kahn's minions. Tsung, Mileena and Baraka could have the plan of resurrecting Kahn or something, then Baraka finds out he would be a sacrifice so he goes ape at Mileena.

After all, in the trailer it looked like he walked in, saw Mileena talking or doing something to someone, so he goes psycho, Mileeena tries to explain, but eventually Baraka decides to kill her again. I dunno just a guess.

if that's the case, maybe this "war" is finally coming to an end...maybe it will return to a "tournament" once again in the next couple mk's. possibly even mk7.
