my guess is Kung Lao, and mk8 will be a "prequel"

Blaze, because when you finish the game as most of the characters, there's a link to Blaze. (Even though the endings are probably non-canon)

After that comes Taven and Daegon.

I have to think that Shinnok would be the most influential after all it was him who played a role in Summoning (either by dropping hints or appiritions etc) most of the fighters to the final war
