Okay, in Deception, it confirms that Liu Kang is the Champion of Mortal Kombat - Mortal Kombat 4, because of the four Medallions he has received for winning these tournaments. Now...Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance made it seem as if Kung Lao was the next champion, but in Deception he is no longer a playable character. So who is it now?
In my opinion, it's Scorpion. Ed Boon states Scorpion as his favorite character, and Scorpion is a chosen Warrior of the Elder Gods.

I don't know. Thats one possible way but Ed Boon has said that Shujinko would be "the new Liu Kang" in interviews or Trading Kard's or whatever it was. I think there's a good chance of Shujinko killing Onaga and then Raiden flipping out and killing Shujinko right after that.

isnt lui kang is the champion of mortal kombat
and scorpion is the elder gods chosen one

nevermind I messed up my post. sorry.

I don't know, I would say Scorpion, but until Ed Boon reveals it in like 4 years (knowing him) we don't really know. Shujinko get killed by Raiden though, so it can't be him, for proof of that, beat Arcade with Raiden, it's his ending.

I hope the ending where Raiden is all pissed off and kills shujinko is true.....ed boon said shujinko was the next liu kang......why do wee need him if liu is back......so I think raiden will continue to be pissed off and kill more humans....and liu is gonna hopefully die again

Yah Raiden went completely psycho... I like it.
Id say that either Liu, Scorp or Shujink beats Onaga and while the body is left to rot Havik steals the heart and resurrects Khan who in turn destroys Havik and retains Onagas power and brings back his hench men such as Rain who was slain... then Raiden will be a hard ass and will be more Neutrel based cause the Elder Gods will be pissed at him so they will send Scorpion to defeat Raiden...
what i think would be awesome is if Khan and Tsung rejoined and Tsung becomes the host of MK again with Khan as the main boss...

I don't buy Raiden "going psycho," he's just pissed off at people screwing things up so he's taking control. Sounds good to me (there's an entire thread on the potential MK7 boss subject in the general forum).
While I appreciate and realize MK has the most compelling and fleshed-out storyline of any fighting game series, it gets kind of annoying when every NEW game that comes out nullfies a huge chunk of what happened in the previous game...it makes me feel like I was an idiot for getting into anything that happened in MK:DA. I realize there can only be one "final winner" so of course not every ending in every game is going to be cannon, but when you get some huge storyline development stuff like Kano inheriting Liu Kang's spirit and then they don't do anything with it, it makes you wonder why they bothered. Same thing goes with Havik's ending in MK:D if we don't see ..."that character" (don't want to spoil it if someone hasn't seen it) back in the next game.
Oh well. I guess MK:D finally puts to rest any rumors of Shao Khan supposedly not being defeated in MK2.

I think that scorp's ending is not true... More likely is shujinko's,as deception is really about him and he has to redeem himself after all.. Raiden's ending is likely to be true as well... Which is why raiden seems darker in this instalment.. ZJust read his bio... What i wonder is what the hell is sub doing in this game... I have no idea what he did in the last and besides getting the armour and beating hotaru once, i cant rem him doin anythin... If you look carefully at the deception intro, the good guys are all Koed on the palace steps, but sub is not there... Neeither is frost... Or kenshi... I know frost betrayed sub but that cant be the only thing rthat happened to sub right??
As for the Kung Lao bit. Wasn't Kung Lao one of Liu Kang's ancestors?
......
Anway, what I find kinda funny is Li Mei's ending, considering you have to beat (kill) Onaga before you can get it, yet in the ending she marries him and they live happily ever after... wtf? XD

The Kung Lao that showed up in MK2 on is Kangs cousin, they both had an ancestor named Kung Lao that participated in MK years before their time, and was slain by Goro...

You have to remember that the Kung Lao/Goro fight was over five hundred years ago. That's like you knowing that you were a descendent of someone from 1504. Sure, you can trace it but it's a little muddled at best. It's very reasonable to assume that the new Kung Lao is related to Liu Kang.

If you all remember correctly, it was confirmed that LI MEI won Deadly Alliance.
I have a feeling the champion of Deception is either Shujinko or Scorpion solely based on his ending.
Hell it could even be Li Mei again, with her ending, who knows, it should be asked in the chat along with stuff about super-unlockables.

Quan Chi won the Deadly Alliance tournament. It says at the beginning of the game... But if you are asking as who won the Deception tournament we won't know that until the next game but I will say they take a combo of the endings... because I believe they will let Havik's one count because he brings back Shao Khan.

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
What about Tanya' s ending where she becomes the one being, do none of you think that's possible?

That is incorrect. Li Mei won the DAtournament. The DA then tired to take her soul but bo rai cho saved her. What you saw in the begining was Rayden trying to stop to army from fully being resurrected, losing to the DA then Quan CHi killing Tsung. Quan Chi did not win the DA tournament.

SangreCowboy, all Li Mei won was a farce tournament set up by the Deadly Alliance to gain souls. None of the other kombatants, including Quan and Shang, were involved in this tournament. Li Mei's reward for winning the tournament was not having her village freed like she had hoped, but to have her soul taken like the souls of the others involved in that tournament.
The real story of MKDA was a war between the DA and the heroes, and the DA won, with Quan then beating Shang. Making Quan the "winner" of MKDA.
