Mortal Kombat has now borrwed some stuff from Japanese legends, that being the oni demons. Do you think that this new class of characters will lead to a new craze in the MK community? Moloch and Drahmin, were pretty well accepted, and now there is the speculation of a third oni in Deception. This character class holds some cool potential, look at Onimusha, they took a source of rich material ala Japanesse mythology and turned it into one of the coolest trilogies I have seen. There are many different types of oni, so it opens huge posibilites, and with this huge class of character it lowers the chances for palette swaps unlike the Ninja class, where people got sick of them since they almost all looked exactly the same. Oni are very individual in terms of looks and power, so each new oni character can have a true fan base.

I believe that because of the Ninja Craze in the old MK's the future MK's will try to stay away from that. Making all the characters very distinct and coming from a variety of backrounds. Oni's are cool but i don't want to see any kind of character craze like we had with the ninjas (even thou i liked all the ninjas) i'm liking the wide variety of characters that we have so far in MK:D. I can't wait to see the secret characters in this game.

Point well taken. But since all oni are different, they can have as many of those as they had ninjas, and none of them would have the same look, story, abilites, strengths, and weaknesses.
