The pit is back in MK Deception, if you take a look there are 3 frames in the trailer that show scorpion falling into a gaping black hole the bottom is covered with mists and smoke, also it's shown using the ingame graphics and not the cg. Freeze frame exactly 20 seconds into the trailer to see what i mean.

Also there's a picture in there of baraka getting ready to do his blade impale, on what looks like subzero. 21 seconds into the movie, skip a few frames forward to see.
