Simple... just some extra features and possibly a new character or two. And no, we don't know what the new features will be. Midway hasn't released that info.... so... my question is.... why does everyone think "12 new characters" ???

So... all you lovey dovey PS2 and XBox fanboys (and please... people who say that X system sucks, and X system is the best... my gawd... get a life)... you can quit ur whinin and saying "ugh... why does the cube get that, not fair."

lol, you must be joking. They've been saying this for some time now too... look at fight night! And here's what they said at fight night...
Scott-Howell- The MKO user TheOmniOni wants to know if you can shed any light on what to expect as the extra content for the GameCube version of Deception?

Tim-DaRosa- the gamecube version will definitely include some new features...some that you may have already heard about and others that we've kept under wraps

Tim-DaRosa- i'd venture to say that excl characters will definitely be a good "possibility" and you can also look forward to some new gameplay features...more on the latter later :)

-Tim-DaRosa- also safe to say that online will be missing, but we'll make up for it...that's a promise

It says more characters right there. They just didn't specify how many.

so people automatically think it's twelve? lol.

they say that it's a "possibility" for it to have exclusive characters. People don't need to get worked up about this.

Oh and more proof for those who don't ever read MKO's news... or are new to MKO:

Well if you talk about which system is better that isn't neccissarily not having a life. Coming to a forum eveeryday for ever hour and posting and making online friends shows you have no life.

The Xbox and PS2 versions of MKD have 6 extra playable characters through hacking devices.

Is it really that far fetched that they would slap those in, and some others from MK DA? Blaze, Mokap, Cyrax, Reptile and others. They probably have a Sareena model floating around somewhere, too.

those extra characters are just models with certain fight styles. Nothing more. No sounds for them, not fatalities, no special moves...

I guess the point I'm trying to make with this thread is that the "12 character" thing is false. And that we should wait for further info from Midway, especially since they themselves never mentioned 12 characters, but did in fact say that theres a "possibility" of having a or some exclusive character(s)... and that there will definently be some extra features.

I'm just getting tired of people spreading false news thats all... just trying to fix the problem.

Just face it, the gamecube version has lost a vital part of the gameplay that made Deception seem so appealing in the first place which is online mode. Once people find out its gone, then some will probably be put off buying it. If Midway want to make money out of a gamecube version they are going to HAVE to make it up big time and the only way I can see them doing it, is not by bringing in some measly 2 characters and a crappy game mode like "test your might" they are really going to have to blow the socks off xbox version if they want to sell, and I can genuinly see them bringing in 12 extra characters (prob from deception) to compensate. You may as well get used to it, Xbox and PS2 users are only ever going to have 24 characters... the gamecube version may have upto 36. Who knows they might even throw in Goro or Sektor and theres nothing you can do about it if its true which in all honestly it probably is!!!

no offence...but, the rest of the world dont own the game yet. ever thought that MAYBE we here at MK Australia are telling the truth? you think because of one fight night all is revealed and its over, the game has nothing more in it?

nice of you to bag our site btw, you actually been there? obviously you dont look at all the angles and get all the info in regards to news and information. because one thing we dont do is post bogus news. and if it is bogus, then the MK Team will tell us its bogus. but since its not, and since they told us, well...you'll see.

i can understand ppls frustration but remember, we're not just a fan site but we have official backing from Midway and the MK Team.

but, you know, when the SU's start appearing dont say we didnt try and tell you. we're fans of the game, and we're not about to post something that will shatter our hopes as well.

Aust telling the truth? I'm not calling Aust a big lier country, I'm just saying that what's been said at Fight Night can prove that info wrong. And yes, I do think that one fight night can make the game have nothing more. Same thing happend with MKDA. After the Fight Night for MKDA, we all discovered there wasn't more in the game. All we learned of what they were planning on putting in it, but never did.

No, I never go to that site. I've only been there to see what all the fuss about "12 characters" and "SU not discovered" were about. I'm in the states, I don't really need to go to an Austrailian site.

But it just gets me to see two sites, urs and this one... say two different things. Whose right? Whose wrong? Of course you'll back up your own site, so why bother arguing? I agree, let the waiting begin.

to put an end to this debate: S_S is right...

right there in black & white, the team said there was the "possibility" of exclusive characters... no one's even sure if there will be exclusives

and true, they could used the character models leftover in the code and slap those in the game, but think about this: those char-mods are basically shells copied over from Deadly Alliance (I'm talking about Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, etc)... in order to make them full characters, they'd need to add fatals and change certain assigned functions (impalement, replaced by throws)... they'd also probably have to add new fatalities, or at least reprogram the character's old ones to work with the new chars

however, even if they did this, the Gamecube's mD format has more memory limitations than a DVD-Rom. With new features *confirmed* added, I'd think they could fit 2, maybe 4 new characters at most... not 12

not to mention endings and bios... that takes up more space

or they could opt not to do any of that, and simply have the incomplete chars w/o fatals... which would suck

oh and about the Australia fan-site or w/e, I personally have not been there, but I wouldn't trust that as a reliable source... currently the GC version of Deception isn't even planned to be international, only the US and Canada get the game... so how exactly would someone in Australia know?

Zenfrequency

Thanks for the info! Very cool site btw. I really hope this info turns out to be true.

Please ignore what the people who are so quick to say "F" this information. Their just tired of all the freaking rumors that come up during the release of these games and have developed an extreme mistrust of anything Boon says. I mean we did get a guy covered with glowing balls as a secret character last time.

I hope we see some of those SU's soon.
