Well thanks everyone, didn't even notice this thread had return to the top. People on this site need to be more friendly or the rules of this site need to be harder, look at davesmk rules.
Welcome to Dave's Mortal Kombat Forums! Before accessing the forums main index, the forum staff requires that all registered members read through and understand the following completely. Children under the age of 13 will be required to register under Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) with parent or guardian permission in order to participate as an active registered member on the forums.
1. Use CORRECT E-MAIL address in profile
It's never fun for the administrator to be flooded with "Message delivery failed: returning message to sender" messages when e-mail addresses in user profiles are not valid. For example when a new reply(s) is made to a thread(s) of a user's choosing and their current profile e-mail is not valid, the message is bounced back to the admin e-mail. New registrations are sent an activation e-mail ensuring the e-mail address the user signed up with is correct. Obviously if the e-mail specified is either bogus or incorrect, the user will not be able to activate his or her account. For those who encounter this problem, please supply the correct e-mail address to Dave Rosteck and your account will be activated manually.
2. NO multiple screen names
Creating more than one screen name is strictly prohibited. If for any reason you are not happy with your first registered screen name DO NOT create a new one, please contact the forum staff to have your SN changed.
3. DO NOT ask questions already covered in the F.A.Q.
Before asking a question when having difficulty with a forum related matter, please read the F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions) first.
4. Post in the CORRECT FORUM
As easy as it may sound, this is one of the most common errors users make on message boards these days. If you are unsure where your thread should be placed, please inform the forum staff via PM (Private Message) after posting your message.
5. Stay ONTOPIC
Sometimes very relevant threads get closed for unfortunate reasons. The most common reason why threads are forced to be closed are due to users having the tendency to lose focus on the thread's original subject. No one wants to be blamed for closed threads so it is required that off topic comments are kept in Shoutbox forum.
6. NO posting in all caps
Yelling or not, no one likes to read posts full of capital letters. Please keep the caps lock off at all times.
7. NO spamming of any kind
Examples are as follows: posts with three letter words such as lol/LOL alone, replying to a question and saying something like "I dont know" or "what a stupid question", posts with very little content or not well thought out, advertising outside of the Advertising Forum and offensive posts. To make it simple, spam is found where it is not appropriate or unwelcomed.
8. NO flooding
Posting messages excessively in short intervals is prohibited. For example, posting messages with inappropriate, little meaning, or very small content back to back will not be tolerated. This is no way to boost your post count.
9. NO flaming directed at other members
If you have a problem with another member(s), please DO NOT call them out publicly. The only suitable solution is to simply PM the user and discuss your issue behind closed doors.
10. NO discrimination of any kind
Discrimination of one's race, sex, religion and/or lifestyle will not be tolerated in any way shape or form. If we suspect any sort of discrimination, we will not hesitate to act upon it.
11. NO multiple posts
When you have something to add or modify shortly after posting a message (which is when you currently have the latest post in a thread), please use the "Edit" button which is found in the bottom right-hand corner of each post. This is another cheap and lazy way of adding to your post count. Exceptions can be made when a user is adding additional relevant information, announcements, attachments etc. Please use your best common judgment.
12. NO bumping threads/topics
Replying to a thread usually with a minimum of a week old should not be resurrected unless totally relevant to the threads original purpose. If the forum staff feels the thread may continue with further posts the thread will remain open. More often than not, bumped threads will be immediately closed and the "bumper" will be issued with a warning.
13. NO oversized signatures & images
No text signatures should exceed more than five lines depending on the font face and size. To help reduce thread load time and altering the forum width, it is required that no signature image exceeds 690 x 200 in pixel dimensions. Acceptable file types include jpg, gif and png with a maximum size limit no higher than 100kB. Be reasonable when applying more than one image in your signature field and not exceeding more than two lines of images depending on their sizes. To upload your signature image to the forums, click the link above the copyright text. This is one of the most (if not the most) difficult guideline to enforce so we please ask that users use their best judgment for both text and image signatures.
14. NO [img] code in posts
This is quite similar to rule #11 but absolutely NO images in posts. When you have an image(s) to present to the forums, please use the attachment feature located at the bottom of each new thread or reply page. If the image(s) is stored on a web server, please post the direct URL.
