Yeah, I know Subby's been covered half to death, but there are still some things I'd like to discuss... and his outfit and new look can be covered in the other threads. After MK:DA, there are a lot of questions and possibilities concerning Subby and the Lin Kuei, so tell me what you think about the following:
1. Frost- she betrayed him yet he spared her life and rescued her. What will happen to her now?
2. Sireena- did I spell that right? How will her relationship to the older Sub-Zero affect her relationship to the new one?
3. Scorpion- vowed to be Subby's protector in MKII. Well... where did that vow go? Scorpion, it appears, has all but forgotten Sub-Zero, the man he once hated so much.
4. Quan Chi- responsible for much of Scorpion and Subby's suffering. Will these two ever official avenge their pain against him?
5. Mavado- MK:DA's ending has him preparing to attack the Lin Kuei clan, a new threat to his power. Will Mavado become Subby's new arch nemesis, or will something else transpire?
6. Cryax- once a member of the Lin Kuei and the would-be-assassin of Sub-Zero. Their relationship has grounded to a halt, with no real resolution. If Cyrax had volunteered to the automation process, wouldn't he still have some vendetta against Sub-Zero or, if he was remorseful, seek to rejoin the Lin Kuei?
7. Smoke- has not been seen since MKIII, and Sub-Zero's supposed "best friend" hasn't been a whole lotta help. Maybe he's dead. Who knows?
8. Dragon King- any connection to the Dragon Medallion? How will the Dragon Medallion effect the Dragon King, or even Sub-Zero in combat against the DK?
9. Raiden- has always been grateful and respectful of Sub-Zero, his power, and his position. Being a god, Raiden must see the aging Sub-Zero is enduring. Could Raiden promote Sub-Zero to god-hood to prevent further aging or to restore his youth?

I probably could have put all that in the Character discussion thread, but I'd rather have all these answered or discussed seperately, since, obviously, I have a lot to think over. And, might I restate, his new Ninja Turtle look can be discussed in the other, oh, 17 threads about his costume change. Fatality.

Frost = Sub-Zero's pretty forgiving. She's probably just recooperating.

Sareena = Probably a dispicable witch. Then again, maybe not. This is up in the air.

Scorpion = Scorpion needs to kill Quan Chi first.

Quan Chi = I think Subby is letting Scorpion handle it.

Mavado = No ones knows where this story will go as of now. It'll probably resurface in MK7.

Cyrax = Cyrax's automations were fucked up. He's probably forgotten about the Lin Kuei since the Special Forces restored as much as they could, but I dunno.

Smoke = He's alive. He'll be in Deception. Not sure what his allegiance is though.

Dragon King = No one knows yet. We'll have to wait.

Raiden = More likely than not, Sub-Zero would decline the offer of being a god.

When scorpion found out that he wasn't the subzero responsible for the death of his family he no longer had the vendetta out on this particular subbie.

Cyrax was reprogrammed by subzero after MK3. It is no longer his mission to rid of Sub.

Smoke will be back, and they will have some form of allegience. This is what i am hoping for anyhow.

Frost, nobody really 'knows', but i think she has probably been banished from the Lin Kieu clan.

In the MKII comic by John Tobias - Scorpion mentions that although he is going to protect the younger Sub-Zero from harm, he says he will still kill him when the time comes.

In Scorpion's UMK3 ending (the part that mentions the past, so it is true regardless of the tournament outcome) they make a mention to this promise, so it definitely happened.

In Scorpion's MK4 ending, which we know from MKDA's intro is a "true" ending, he basically decides not to kill Sub-Zero anymore, because Quan Chi is the real enemy.

I still think Scorpion and Sub-Zero have ties. The history between them is too deep to just go fading away. Scorpion's death, the Lin Kuei's treachery, Quan Chi's manipulations, Scorpion's wrath and vengence, the death of Sub-Zero (5th), the appearance of Sub-Zero (6th), Scorpion's vow, the Lin Kuei assassins, etc. There's just too much connecting the two ninjas to break them apart into independent stories. Just my opinion. Fatality.

Frost- I imagine if Frost survived, she'd probably be kicked out of the Lin Kuei. In which case, she may offer her services to Mavado or Sektor.

Sareena- Personally, I hope she doesn't betray Sub-Zero. For one, Frost already did. Two, it makes Sub-Zero look like a jackass. ("I was betrayed by a demon from Hell?! I never would have guessed!") And three, IMO, Sareena has more potential and can do better than that.

Scorpion- Apparently, Scorpion has diregarded his vow to protect Sub-Zero since he's found out Quan Chi killed his family. Hopefully, he'll remember his vow so that way he'll have something relevent to do again.

Quan Chi- I'm sure Sub-Zero still holds a grudge against Quan Chi for orchestrating the death of his brother. However, unless Quan Chi is in Deception, we may not see this developed anytime soon. That, and he probably has other things (the Dragon King) to worry about.

Mavado- Liek Quan Chi, unless Mavado is in Deception, we probably won't see a Red Dragon/Lin Kuei feud developed soon.

Cryax- In MK3, Sub-Zeor reprogrammed Cyrax and I guess after the Special Forces gave him his soul back, Cyrax has no hard feelings against Sub-Zero.

Smoke- Since Smoke's coming, back, we'll have to wait and see.

Sektor- Heavily rumored to be coming back, armed with an army of Tekunin warriors, and a massive grudge against Sub-Zero, I think if Sektor returns, he'll play a big role in Sub-Zero's story.

1. Frost- Most likely Sub-Zero banished her, but who knows?
2. Sireena- I feel that Sareena may betray Sub-Zero. I think she was acting all innocent in MKM:SZ so she could get out of the Netherealm. Beware, Sub-Zero.
3. Scorpion- I am tired of this Scorpion became Sub-Zero's protector shit. It's NOT true. MKDA makes this clear, and nowhere in CANON MK4 storylines does it say that Quan-Chi told Scorpion that Sub-Zero murdered his family and clan. To this day, he still assumes Sub-Zero is the same one. I hope their paths will cross again, yes, but everything everyone believes is not true.
4. Quan Chi- I think Sub-Zero is letting Scorpion handle him. He's got bigger problems, and Scorpion has more of a reason to mess with him anyway.
5. Mavado- We'll see....who knows?
6. Cryax- Cyrax still remembers the Lin KUei, but he's with Special Forces now. Who knows? Maybe he and Sub will meet again. I think when they do, they will be allies, because all of that stuff in MK3 was the past and not really Cyrax's fault.
7. Smoke- We'll see....
8. Dragon King- I'm curious to see if the Dragon Medallion has any relationship to the King. We'll see...
9. Raiden- Unlikely.

John Tobias wrote it in a comic. Comic written by Tobias is official canon.

Scorpion's MKII ending states he will protect him.

Alluded to in Sub-Zero's MKII ending, his life was spared.

Mentioned again in Scorpion's UMK3 ending.

Regardless of whether or not the events therein actually happened, the fact that it's mentioned in no less than three endings is good enough for me.

That, and the glaringly obvious fact that Scorpion originally came back to avenge his own death at the hands of Sub-Zero. If he thought the Sub-Zero from MKII-onwards was that one, he would have tried to kill him many a time since then.

1.Frost-Either forgiven or kicked out of the clan. Sub-Zero invariably would've spared her. He's too much of a good guy.

2.Sareena- Sareena will foolishly betray Sub-Zero, and will pay dearly for it. I don't think Sub-Zero will get duped by Sareena. If anything happens with any treachery, I see Sub-Zero dispatching of her with relative ease.

3.Scorpion- These two have an amazingly complex relationship. Sub-Zero's brother killed Scorpion. Scorpion killed Sub-Zero's brother. Yet these two are really the only people who can understand each other, as Quan Chi orchestrated the destruction of both of their lives. I can only imagine there's some feeling of Kinship because of that. If Scorpion and Sub-Zero ever cross paths again, it will be as allies.

4.Quan Chi-Sub-Zero was part of an alliance of heroes trying to stop Quan Chi and Shang Tsung in the last game. I believe he is wise enough now that he will go after Quan Chi not for revenge, but for the fate of the realms.

5.Mavado- No word about this yet; the Red Dragon/ Lin Keui fight will only happen if the Black Dragon is destroyed I believe.

6.Sektor-Sektor's cyber Ninjas will probably target the Lin Keui if this story comes true.

7.Cyrax- No where to go with this one. The problem is solved.

8.Dragon King- No clue. Although I'd love to see Sub-Zero defeat Dragon King and become the new hero.

9. Smoke- Smoke will rejoin Sub-Zero as an ally.
I always got the feeling that Smoke was even closer to Sub-Zero than his own brother was. I think Smoke is the friend Sub-Zero would need about now.

10.Raiden- As best I can tell this Dragon Medallion is pretty damn strong. Despite his aged appearance, I'd guess it actually grants Sub-Zero longer life.

Quite frankly, there is way too much happening in regards to Sub-Zero. I think it's time he becomes the hero. he's certainly less one dimensional than Liu Kang. It'd be a nice change.

Well Scorpion DID make the vow. I think he first did care about his vow if he thought Sub-Zero killed his family, and then it was kinda gone since he was in Netherrealm... and they didn't meet up during the entire Deadly alliance thing... so who k nows...
