I want a line of communication for those of us who still play Deception on the PS2, mostly since i don't have a headset to talk about our matches while they're going on, and typing messages in between matches is a pain in the ass.
My tag is Rusted and i've been playing Shwazeey, i-am-sic, Mr. Wang, Kobe-8, Live2die, and others that are excellent players.
-Shwazeey: sorry about that abusive language after our first few matches, but i was really pissed about my lousy playing, your turtling and spacing in between rounds. But our last series was intense. Every match was tight. Makes me want to cap some more.
-Live2die: sorry man, but i've stopped capping until MK8. But it's not impossible to get some capped and posted if you really want it bad. Get back to me and we'll try to set up a time.
-Mr Wang: fuck dude. I got one win against you. I felt like a noob. Sucked. You're too good.
-Kobe-8: where the hell are you!?!?
-i-am-sic: let's match up again.
Anyone that i left out, sorry. If you are out there still playing, then this is the thread for you to throw in on. So say what you want right here.

Well I'm still playing MKD, but not online yet, for fear of what you've said. I don't want my butt handed to me everytime I get on. I don't mind losing, just not everytime I play. That's why I'm wondering if there is a teir system to play with equal skilled players; if there's not I'm not going through the hassle of networking my comp and my console.

I feel the same way. That's why everyone plays so hard in this game: they want to win. But not just because it's a competition, because losing feels so fucking bad. This game, by its design, can turn a little MK fun into MK hell when you're up against a master of:
- 50/50
- free throws
- infinites/semi-infs
- spacing
- autorecovery
- fast/safe attacks
and there's no shortage of guys who play this well on the PS2. You don't see this anymore on the XBox. In fact, it feels so bad to lose over and over badly that people stop playing the game altogether. What should happen is that people should go into the rooms (Beg, Adv, Exp) of their respective skill level. Everyone just piles in to the Beg. room and the experts kill everyone in there, and then have gg's with each other. It's aggravating and even embarrassing to get killed by the experts.
The best way to play this game is with people of equal skill level: Then it's challenging for both instead of being a lopsided slaughter. Unfortunately people have abondoned the game instead of practicing and playing to improve. But EVEN IF YOU DO--there's still going to be players that will kill you. So it comes down to:
- play people of your own skill level as much as you can
- play better guys as much as you can stand losing and learn
- stop playing altogether
For myself, i've done all three. But i keep coming back. Like an addict. I just gave the PS2 back to my girlfriend so that i can't play online anymore since it makes me feel stressed and anxious and angry and even violent. Who needs that in his life? I hope that Midway will defy its reputation and make a more playable version of MK with the next game, but it's more likely that it's going to have the same dynamic that allows people to dominate each other in a match and wind up driving new and middle level players away. We'll see.

Well I think after so many wins in a row you should automatically be bumped up to the next level and banned from the lower level until you lose so many in a row. Even if the experts purposely lose to get back to the lower level they will have the losing record on their account, so doubtfully they'll do that. At least thats my opinion.
Besides cheating online makes you a bigger loser even though you win all the time. A true master doesn't cheat. I have all the cheat codes, but I wouldn't use them online.

I'de like to play MKD online, but I want someone who can play on my level, not someone who will outright beat me, or, in most cases, loose easily.
