While I was out today I was flipping through the latest issue of Tips & Tricks and I found something interesting.
There is a four page article in the November issue covering various aspects of Deception (not to mention the full page cover of Barkaa that originally caught my attention).
At first it seemed like your typical article seen in many other mags, no big deal.
As I was reading I noticed something. Certain letters in words were color coded.
Here are a few lines from the article to give you an example of what I'm talking about:
"The game's creators were very considerate of player feedbACk from the game..."
"This addresses a BiG complaint from players of Deadly Alliance, in which the combos played a prevalent role in the overall gameplay..."
You'll notice that where the bold letters are indicate where the colored letters appear. The letters AC in the word feedback were yellow and the BG in the word big were blue.
So I went through and documented all the colored letters in the order they appeared in the article. Then I categorized each set of letters under their corresponding color. They are as follows:
Yellow: AC, CB, CR, BR, HE, QR, NL
Blue: BG, DB, OG, KJ, NR
Green: LH, HG, LC, AE, QL
Grey: NH, NA, TF, RH
Red: RB, FP, IM, CA, LR, NP
White: FT, RO, QB, KM
So the first thing I thought (which is probably the first thing many of you are thinking) is to go open those coffins in the Krypt.
What I found is that each coffin (depending what color) unlocks that type of koin.
For Example: All the yellow letters open the coffins containing gold koins, white letters open coffins containing platinum koins, etc...
I tried unlocking the coffins in different orders. First I tried unlocking them in the order they appear in the article. Then I tried unlocking them in order by color (all the yellow first, then blue, etc...) but I found nothing.
On the surface it would appear that this is just Tips & Tricks way of guiding you to the coffins that contain additional koins.
Is it possible that this could mean something more? Could it be somehow connected with the Kombat Kodex or the Brady Games Guide?
