There are those who will want to maintain a good record, if not to impress people then to give them a sense of self-satisfaction, if they're going to accept matches from people they know they'd never be able to beat then that would really make online play a waste of time for them, but also asks the question wouldn't you want to be the best you could be by beating the better opponents.
Then there are what I like to call the group that are MK-fans before Fighting game fans. these people play MK because of the fun side of gaming, if they saw someone being really serious about it, it kinda goes against what they're about, so more than likely they wouldn't like going against the better players too often.

The way I like to think of online gaming is to stick to your categoried style of gamer, the better players will always seek out bigger challenges, fun gamers will always play against the more laid-back players who don't mind who they face.
No surprize, when one tries to have a game with the other, they'd feel a bit alienated, whether it's people getting annoyed at others not taking it seriously enough, or the other way around, people feeling pressured into taking it seriously in order to get along with people.

I have the same problem. when i play someone with a high rank if they lose or get clse to loseing they wont play you again. Other players with really good ranks wont accept my challenges at all. They wont reject a challenge but leave so it says that it isnt available anymore.

I'm a character designer, what have you done with your life? Never post rude comments like that unless you can back them up with something substantial.

I haven't even tried MK: Deception online yet, it only just came out just a little less than a month ago in Australia.

i have a fulltime job and i only play mkd a few hours a night, and i have almost 700 games played.. it doesnt take obsession and lack of a life to play a large amount of games.

However it does take obcession and lack of life to belittle people for their life choices.
If he has the time to spend playing 2k+ games thats his deal. You are projecting your own values on him. Some people measure success by how much money they make or what cars they have or how many women etc... some people measure success by how happy they are and how much time they gave to charity and how meager a life they live. It's often a sign of your own insecurity when you force your values on another person and quite often you will find these people feel they are failures in the eyes of somebody important to them example being their father. These are the type of people who feel the need to hurt people for the way they were born(race and sexual preference) it's honestly kind of sad so much hate and so little understanding. At some point you may realize different people have different values and even though you may like to go out and get drunk to the point of puking another person may refuse to drink ever because they don't feel the need to block out reality. Think on that.

People like me who make a lot of money and can afford to do so. Don't even come with dumb shit like this. I get tons of stuff on a daily basis, design characters, something that I love to do for a living. In leisure time I'm either out socializing, drawing, working out at Powerhouse Gym or playing MK. Don't even try to act like you some kind of Jock who is above playing a game for over 2000 matches. Get real, don't criticize someone when you dont have the proper amunition to criticize them. It makes you look like a fool. I won't critcize you nor can I because...plain and simply I don't know you. Show some respect and either post mature comments or don't post at all. Leave the high school mentality out of this discussion. I'm not complaining about people not accepting my challenge I just wanted some reasons on why not and if anyone else was experincing this. It was just a simple question.

Im studying to get my computer Science major, hopefully one day i'll be programming videogames. I also like drawing. I drew my kenshi avatar.

Wow. You guys think that is alot of games you should see this guy named Kingbear. Guy has 3800 matches done, probably 4000 by the end of tonight.
Back on topic, I think that the challenges vary. Some high rankers won't fight low rankers because they barely get any points out of it so it won't help them any in their own rank. Therefore they only challenge those with high ranks like between 1-100.
Others are those that are protecting their ranks that they may have gotten by beating up on newbies and cheese the hell out of others.
Also, alot of those guys seem to have up to 10 different aliases sometimes. It really is ridiculous they care so much about ranks.
Sometimes when I see a high winning streak I have to look at other things. That usually signals to me that they are bo cheesing (or other means of cheesing), gamesharking, or are really good. Sometimes it is just hard to tell.

aren't videogames suppose to be FUN?

I have the same problem, evrytime I get online it takes me alot of time to find a challenger, usally I wait for people to challenge me cause I never refuse a challenge unless I played the guy ( or the girl) before and he or her was using a cheat device to move before the round start or to go faster ( I still beat him anyway)...But I never got to fight against Rambo (rank - 1 on PS2) or people like that who have high rank are they that good or are they just challenging people with low rank? I coudn't wait to play MKD when I knew that it was going to be online, but now I find it boring when you have to wait like 5 to 10mins to get to play against an opponent that will disconnect himself just before the end of the final round I don't see the point of doing that at least face your defeat man...
Anyway if your lookink for a challenge I'm Jovanot on PS2 I'm not the best but i'M not the worst get ready to be frozen to death

No school was necessary, I've been drawing since I was 5 years old. The only school I needed was conputer learning centers where I learned programing. I also learned photoshop and thats how I color my characters. I do alot of freelance work and I should be getting a position with MTV productions after the review my portfolio. Soon I will have my own production house once I absorb more resources. I have three stories that I've written and I am illustrating them comic style. Since I live right near the entertainment capitol of the world in Hollywood, CA, running the complete products by a producer will be in my best interest. That Kenshi that you drew is excellent! All of my characters are currently in photoshop format so once I convert them I'll post some for you to see or I can e-mail you a sample. Good luck with you schooling and carreer choice in video game programing. It takes hard work and dedication to work in the field and judging by you great art I already know that you can make it.

hmm, playing only 2.000 games of mk 6 online isnt alot.. think of it this way 60 games online take about 3 hours to complete.. hes averaging about 22 games a day, thats less then 1 hour of his day..

Blacksaibot confirmed my suspicions about him. He is obviously insecure with his own life so feels the need to belittle others in an attempt to justify his own poor life.
I also love how the mods seem to randomly choose who they moderate. They ignore half the abusive posts and moderate the other half. Maybe one day they will get a clue.

I challenge danadbab occasionally, but hardly get accepted, it's probably because of the ping difference, and he doesn't want a laggy game. At anyrate, I find the most difficult players to beat are usually in the 100-300 range...
People in the top 100 I don't know much about other than I rarely get a chance to play them and if I do, if they win one match they quit, and if they lose they pull.
