Trouble signing into Xbox Live on MKD.

I load my game profile with my pass code then go to Xbox Live and I hit my gamertag and type that code and it says signing in then pops up with a message that says Connection Failed: Your Xbox couldnt connect to live, press A for Online Troubleshooting and B to Cancel.
I did the troubleshoot and it said Cables Connected, IP settings configured and something else, it all worked and then said signed into Xbox Live. So it starts the game over I try it again does the same thing.
WTF?

Ok I opened the disk tray to get to the Main Xbox Menu and then clicked Xbox Live and it says in a box that pops up that Xbox Live is not responding, I mean it worked last night, is this something I can control or will it fix itself?

Call the 24 hour xbox help line. There is a port you have to foward if you xbox is plugged into a router.
