On that mountain stage area the outer parts of the level breaks apart in X amount of time. During that time it is possible for both kombatants to to fall to their deaths if both are in the danger zone. It is unknown( at least ot me) how a winner is choosen.

I'm suprised you haven't seen this stage fatality already.. I saw it back in May! E3 is awesome...

That's weird. Mileena and Hotaru are impaled, but who is the other person? Looks to be a female to me. Maybe Jade or Tanya? But why are they there?

And if both fall, most likely whoever triggered the fall or whoever is impaled first will lose.

I saw it before but I never saw that other person,it makes me think there'll be tag team matches.

I remember that the first time I saw that pic, the one character that popped in my mind when I noticed that 3rd character...was Goro from MK4. But I'm positive that couldn't be him, he just sort of looked like him for a second.

Background material. Don't look so deep into it. Imagine the MKI Pit stage with people hanging from the pillars. That's what its reminiscient of.

yeah its most likly decoration, just like the orignal pit, it makes you feel like you not the first, sucks hard doesn't it, if your going to die in that fashion you might as well know that you dies in a hip new way that is sure to start a trend.

It's just decoration like the Pit 1.

He's impaled with his stomach down, so it can't be a fighter. The fighters always get impaled on their backs, through the stomach.

At E3, we were able to get both fighters to fall of the edge off of the Crumbling Tower. It's actually quite easy, just have both fighters stand on the edge of the arena until it breaks away. The glitch, however, is deciding who the winner is. Usually it would award the victory to Player One ... even if Player One has less energy. We were told by Steve Beran that this would be fixed, however, and the victory would go to the player with the most energy. It is impossible to determine one player or the other triggered the trap, because it is on a timed program.

thet will probably make it a draw or give the win to the player who has more health.

What happens if both people fall at the sametime. It is just like what happens if the time runs out the person with the most energy wins the round.

The only thing I don't like so far is that if a player gets knocked into a death traped the first round. Round two starts as if nothing happened.

Perhaps the 3rd person is someone who was previously impaled? You know, to show that someone has fallen victim to this arena before......

you're right,the third people is somebody previously impaled in the spike,like in the pit from MK 1,that's a cool detail.
