I think that taping forward 2 times to run is annoying

I also think that using the analog stick to move 3D is annoying as well

To resolve that my idea is to bring back the run button... and to move 3-D all we would need to do is to hold the run button and tap up or down...

what do u think?

I have never used the run feature before but honestly I really like the idea of that becuase I hate turtlers. If you take away the run at least drop the clock to 60 seconds. About the 3d/2d thing I am fairly upset about that because I use the analog stick on the controller as my main method of moving around. I use my thumb and first finger on the left analog and I use my trigger finger for CS. Also, people who like to use arcade sticks seem SOL also. As of right now with the current setup it is literally unplayable for me.

I think you're wrong on both counts.

I never used the run button.
Even then it seemed like an arse backwards addition, and as far as I recall, we didn't even have widespread precedent for the double tap.

A block button might have an argument, but come on...

MK is the only fighting game I know that used a separate button for running. While I certainly didn't mind it,EVERY OTHER fighting game (not to mention the countless beat'em'ups) out there used ->,->. If you have trouble getting used to the most basic input command in the world that you should have mastered when you were freaking 6 years old,GTFO.

Why do we need a separate button for everything?
Run Button
Throw Button
Change Styles Button
Pick Up Stage Weapon Button

Couple those buttons with the
Block/Parry Button
Attack 1
Attack 2
Attack 3
Attack 4

It sounds like MK VS DC has streamlined the controls. Good I say.

it will seem awkward and i do miss the run button but i do believe that this game is more or less made for the 2D fans with a lil extra for the 3D fans ..with that said it will be easier to do the dash with the d-pad and as much as i would love to see the run button back the double tap is ok with me .. as long as you can run, i think i will be set

I don,t want a throw button, a change style button or a pick up stage weapon button... just run and block + the 4 attack buttons

BOOO....to the run button. YAY! for the double tap!

The run button was laughted at by the fighting game community, myself included. It felt awkward and clunky ass opposed to smooth and free flowing like other games with a dash/run feature felt. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I hit the stupid run button by accident or missed it, costing me the match.

Double tapping is easier and more natural for may fighting game players, both casual and hardore alike. I'm just happy that the damn run is back in the game!

Peace

IMO I think that it is easier to double tap by accident then taping the run button by accident

I liked the run in the older games, it could have been easier I'll admit but it did work none the less.

I'm happy to see/hear about the running/dashing back in a newer form. I'm assuming we'll also be able to dash back again too.

oh no... no no no...

run button was horrible, it was a joke. What it should be:

back - move back
forward - move forward
down - sidestep left/right
up - sidestep left/right

back, back - backdash
forward, forward - run
down, down - duck (or down+back/forward)
up,up - jump up (up+back - jump back, up+forward - jump forward)

It wasn't horrible, if not for the run UMK3, MKT and MK4 would have been nothing but another MK2 turtle fest...

It was very good tactic to gameplay, it could have been easier for the player instead of a "run button" but still worked none the less as far as the "actual gameplay"
