I think that it would be cool if each character's weapon would do something to hurt an opponent for the remainder of the match:

ERMAC & SCORPION
They both have swords so it would be cool if they kept the impaling thing going.

MILEENA
Mileena uses sais. For them and anyone who uses small weapons I think it would be cool to keep the leg stabbings.

BARAKA
His weapon is tricky so it would be better to use his blades to slash someone so they continue to bleed.

HEAVIER WEAPONS
Say someone has a mallet or staff it would be cool if they would break an opponent's limbs or hit them so hard that they become dizzy.
