What are your THOUGHTS on Character WEAPONS? a list and pics are provided

NOT STAGE WEAPONS...but the ones in the third fightings stance.

Baraka: Blades
Scopion: NinjaSword (similar to the one in DA)
Hotaru: Naginata (see pic below)
Sub-Zero: KoriBlade (Same as DA, ICE Sword)
Mileena: Sai
Bo Rai Cho: Jojutsu (see pic below)
Ermac: Axe
Li Mei: Melon (see pic below)
Asrah: Kriss (see pic below)
Kenshi: Katana (samurai sword type)
Sindel: Kwan Do (see pic below)
Nightwolf: Tomahawks

This is where i got the weapon list from, assuming it is correct and accurate


If these are in fact the choices, than i am VERY happy and pleased. Ermac having an axe? Thats so sweet!, thats the one weapon i wanted along with a HUGE HAMMER and it looks like we are getting one (but as a stage weapon). And although a whip would have been so awesome for Sindel to have, her weapon is still pretty tight.



For those of you that don't know what some of them are ( i too didnt know all of them and had to look these up myself)...

Bo Rai Cho's, a wooden sword like?



Li Meis Melon is more similar to a mace



Ashrahs weapon, wavy sword



Sindels weapon is similar to Hotarus

Li Mei needs something better than melons. Put spikes on them or something. I don't think Sindel's weapon fits her either. Something else.

They do have spikes on them. Her weapon is called a Morning Star. I believe a REAL Morning Star is attached to the handle by a chain, but I don't think Li Mei's is.

In the video I saw, I could of swore it said she had a morning star. Well if it doesn't have the chain, and it's just a spiked ball attacked to a wooden handle, then it's a mace. But what been has in his hand right there is a morning star, or a flail as some may call it.

I believe the Morning Star is a stage weapon from that level. Li Mei and Ben have both been featured in that same level using it.

That thing that Ben has in the picture isnt a morning star i dont think, a morning star isnt on a chain, if its on a chain then its just called a flail. But a flail and morning star r still in the same class of weapons, they r both labled maces. Also i dont think that in the final game that Sindel willhave that weapon, wel i REALLY hope she doesnt, i hate that stupid ass weapon.

Anyways, the Morning Star is Li Mei's weapon. She had it in a gameplay video in another level. The video is right here.

Don't know if anyone else noticed, but Scorpion does not have the same weapon as this guy listed. It's not the same one from Deadly Alliance. He has the sword named Mugai-Ryu. Which is a long slender samurai sword with a notch at the end of the blade. Also when he swings it, it has a nice little fire glow to it.

Funny thing is, is that NOONE really answered my threads question...everyone kinda just complained or nitpicked and even argued as to what weapons are what.

Point is, are you HAPPY, UPSET, DISAPPOINTED about the weapons chosen for Deception?...DO the weapons chosen for each character represent them as a character?

Well u cant really comment on the weapon selection yet because the game is not a finished product. As of right now i feel that they could do better. But that may change once the game is released. wow

yeah for example originally, Shang Tsung had the staff but they gave it to Raiden instead.

Fairly happy. The only ones I don't really see fitting are Li Mei's and Sindel's. Actually, I was hoping Sindel would have some kind of claws or something.

Sub-Zero's Kori blade is great in concept but it needs a little bit of a different look for MK:D. More icy effects, and more evil looking.

It's kind of "meh" atm in my opinion.

If they made this sword icy, or leave a trail of frost behind it...this would be a cool sword for ol Subby

that was also one of my gripes, the Kori Blade. It was just too similar to the one in DA. But like everyone is saying, its still early and he needed a weapon for E-3. I bet they will clean it up, because they did so with scorpions sword from what i hear...his is firey now?

That sword would be perfect if it was given ill icy effects. In my view Sub-Zero's Kori blade should meet certain criteria. It has to have an eastern (Asian) feel to it, look evil, and have cool icy effects being that... well... it's made out of flash frozen ice.

I hope that the MK team is paying attention to this these boards. It would be in their best interests as well as ours. There's always allot of great ideas and concept art floating around.

That sword was a great find Monk, and all around, this is a very nice post in general! smile

I like what almost everyone's got so far. Giving Scorpion a glowing sword was a wise choice, as well as leaving Bo Rai Cho, Sub-Zero, and Kenshi with their MKDA tools of torment. I'm now having difficulty picturing them without them.

The only one I've got a problem with is Sindel's. It just doesn't suit her, and it's too close to Hotaru's, whose weapon fits him perfectly. I just hope they don't play identically, like many of the MKDA weapons did.

I'm perfectly happy with the weapon selection. I was hoping for a whip for Sindel but the choices that ahve been made are fine with me.

u dont just get dragon points for just poating a thread..u can get them also by posting a good reply.

any way to the question..sindel needs a whip as a weapon..not like the 1 from the female from scal 2.. just a real leather whip,,they can create some nice combos w/ it and even a throw move w/ it.
also some kind of boomerang weapon....

i think that spike ball that Ben has is a projectile used to tear someone up in his fatality. agreed - subzeros sword should look more icy (since sub did create it out of ice) some kool ideas to improve it: should drip with water as if it was melting, shards could break off on impact, and when it breaks in half sub could use up some energy to restore the sword to its original state. mi lei should get a flail (two maces join by a chain, sorta like nunchuks) and sindel should get claws or a whip. oh, also ashrah should use her gigantic hat as a weapon (jks)

I dont think that Scorpion is going to have the Mugai-Ryu because if u look at the screenshot below, it says he has the ninja sword still. Scorpion only had the Mugai-Ryu in igns videos, and ign got their gameplay videos a day before E3 even started. So maybe they were just tesing the sword at the time. I think if Sindel doesnt get her whip, then the mugai-Ryu would look pretty cool on her.

All But Sub - Zero's SHITTY Kori Blade. Piece Of Shit. It Cannot Do Anything. I'm Hiring Scorpion To Melt That Excuse For A Weapon. Unless It Improves, Which It Better...

So, Overall, I'm Pleased. That's The Only Flaw In The List.
