Personally, I don't see why Baraka's more important
than anyone else...
I guess all the classic characters are the most important, 'coz they have to live up to the fan's expectations.

That kind of my point and baraka has always been kind of mysterous so im hoping to tel of him and what happend in mk:gold really

Each have their goals and stuff, but as for now, no one seems to hold anything big or important.

If I had to choose I would probably say Sindel and Mileena, due to Kitanas absence and their possible relation to the great king.

True if Kitan's story is like how they sais then sindel but not millena she hates Kitana so i would say sindel too because her story of course is going to evolve Kitan and the Dragon king i think

That's easy the Dragon King.Even though we know nothing about him I think he may very well be the biggest threat to the Earthrelm fighters then all of the other bosses combined.Raiden seemed down right spooked that Quan and Shang were trying to revive the Dragon Kings un-defeatable army.So how powerful must the Dragon King be to control such an army.

Each character would have their own stories as to why they are even in this game.

Several characters will only be there because another character is there which they want to defeat for some reason. They may not be there to defeat the DK at all

I definetly go with Kabal.

Aside from the Dragon King, I'd have to say Sub Zero. He and Kung Lao seem to be MKs two biggest heroes. Kung ain't confirmed (I'd be surprised not to see him) and the Lin Quei are now fighting for good, plus Smoke's back, most likely to back him up.

I can say that kabal is pretty important know

Dragon King...since he is the ultimate boss in this game and most if not all of the story lines will have to deal with him.

I kinda agree with Kitana. She must be hell of important if the Dragon King has gone to all the trouble of Capturing her.
Sindel may be important. BUt we'll not know until the full list is available.

I also think kitana plays the most important part even if she turns out not to be playable. She supposively captured. Sindel to the rescue, mileena to stop her. Tanya who knows what but shes definately involved. Baraka is involved with mileena. These characters i think play a big important part.

Thats true Scorpion needs his revenge so he can have a new story!!!

What with the whole "Dragon King" Storyline, I think it's actually the spirit of Liu Kang that's the most important because he's a dragon. Maybe Kiara, the Black Dragon girl will be pretty important too.
