The deception is that the DK is the sub boss and the real boss is *gasp* ED BOON!

Im assuming there is not just one deception but rather the whole theme of the game is bassed on many small levels of deception revolving around one or two significant deceptions.

mkraiden - Yeah, that sounds about right to me. As with every MK, they'll be a general story arc with several key players. And then they'll be the side characters with their own little agendas which probably won't have much to do with the deception. It'll be interesting to see what the deception actually is.

THE BIGGEST deception in the game is Mileena posing as Kitana and taking charge of Outworld, leading its army in a battle against the Dragon King.

I think there is going to be many deceptions throughout the entire game, maybe a deception upon or by every fighter in the game. But there may be one huge deception and I really think that it is to make everyone think the DK is the final boss by hyping him up to the max, then having another person to fight who had remained in the shadows for the entire game. I don't think it will be anyone obvious like Liu Kang, Raiden or Reptile - more likely it would be Shao Kahn, Shinnok, Shang Tsung or Quan Chi. But that's just my opinion...

Possibily the deception from somebody evil (Baraka, Mileena etc) turning into a force of good?

I was beginning to wonder if Liu Kang was the deception, with him being resurrected and being pretty pissed at the fact Raiden couldnt help him.

Just a thought.

Maybe the deception has to do with Baraka and Mileena. Evil power-hungry villains always deceive each other when they team up (which is exactly what happened in many of the endings in MK:DA).

I think that Liu Kang will actually turn out to be Shang Tsung. Having stolen Liu's soul in MK:DA, he has every possible reason to. He will pose as the fabled warrior and falsely lead earth realm's fighters directly into the Dragon King's (Shao Khan's) hands.

Ok, I think the deception is that Mileena deceived the entire outworld by fooling Kitana's army, and getting her captured. Or it could be that Baraka, Mileena's husband, went behind her back and served the dragon king rather than support the fallen throne of Shao Kahn. That's why they fight in the trailer and why Mileena is not listed as Baraka's ally. grin
