Do you prefer Fatalities using the character's special skill (e.g. Kenshi's and Ermac's telekinesis Fatalities) or something using brute power (like the skeleton rip Subbie uses in DA)? I prefer the special skilled ones. Give your opinion and give an example of your fav fatality smile
Something realistic. You can't rip out an entire skeleton from someones ass!
I do like the ones where they use their trademark abilities, even though they are a little cliche.

Anything works in a fatality as long as it looks somewhat real, doesn’t try too hard to be funny and isn’t overkill. So I prefer any type of death.

Yes well Tetra, I wasn't talking about realism at all... seeing how my post on realistic Fatalities wasn't really estimated that highly by any of the members here smile But you're right... if you have to make it surreal, make it pure eye-candy grin
You can only dismember, implode/explode, decapitate, disarm, etc, so much before it gets boring. Some new ideas, or new ways of doing old types of fatalities would be a breath of fresh air. Killing is only fun for so long.

I'd say them using their "special skill". Like Scorpions Toasty fatalitys, especially the one from MK4 where he sets them on fire and they run around screaming and drop to their knees and fall face first. For once they didn't explode or turn into a burning skeleton.

That was funny as hell! That, Liu Kang's Dragon, and Quan's leg beat. My top 3 Fatalities ever, in the worst MK ever.

Hmm... the Dragon one... (only rented out MK4 once). Is this the one where he morphs into a dragon and bites the enemy in half?
He morphs, then grabs you in his jaws, swings his head like a dog playing with a rabbit, then slams you down and sits there as a dragon.

That reminds me when we saw our dog chasing a mole... she totally lacks all killer instincts smile she shook it around for almost 2 minutes, and it still just walked off! grin

I definetly hate the funny stuff. MK should be dark and dreary. You should get atngle in your spine from a good fatality. I hate Bo Rai Cho's new fart one, Quan Chi's neck stretcher, and Mavado's sucks. Johnny Cage's brain pull is my all time favorite.

Yeah, but instead of Liu Kangs Dragon I like Shinnoks fatality were the "Single" skeleton hand grabs them and squeezes till their head pops, then drags the body down with it, excellent!

I prefer them to use a special feature...like Mileena eating and Sindel screaming. I also like characters like Kira and Jade using their skills and speed.

Fatalities that are unique to the character are usually my favourites, like Kitana's fans, Mileena's teeth, Sindel's scream, Kung Lao's hat, Reptile's acidic saliva or whatever it is. But any of the ones involving more skill are good for me. The funny ones just aren't that great.

I think most of the fatalities people consider "classic" involved characters trademark abilities. Kung Lao's hat slice, Scorpion's toasty, even Jax's arm rip, as brute strength WAS his trademark in a way.
Of cousre there are some exceptions, such as Quan Chi's leg beat.
Maybe thats why fatalities such as Li Mei's in MK:DA were so average. They just weren't unique enough.
I personally think every fatality should be specific to the abilities, traits or trademarks of that character. Hotaru could use his flags somehow, Dairou could perfom a traditional-esque clean kill type execution fatality in which he thrusts his sword into the back of the opponents neck and leaves it there, and so on and so forth.
If a character doesn't have any specific trademarks, abilities or traits, then i don't think they belong in a MK game. Li Mei was alright..but there was nothing special about her, so she could easily be forgotten. Mavado on the other hand, will always be remembered as "that stupid guy with the hook things".
Trademarks = MK.

trademark usally make for intresting fatality. but the hands fatality only works if it works with that characters.
