posted05/02/2004 08:45 AM (UTC)bythis was discussed somewhat in anoter post but would it be possible to get Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails to do the music for decption? He's done music for games before (Quake) and the results were spectacular! He is a master artist and I think his style and talent would really mix well with the MK series. Thoughts?

well compared to what the music has been like in mk recently id say it's time for a change... i'd like more mk1 and mk2 type music cause i havent liked it much since..... but i think trent could do an awesome job of capturing a dark style of music for the game.... would be really cool imo too bad won't happen... a dark style of music would be nice.......
Trent is a god. Thing is...the MK battle themes are normally fast-paced, if dark. I wonder how he'd approach that.
Although, if anyone here's ever heard "At The Heart Of It All" on Further Down The Spiral, I think they might agree with me that that would make an excellent monster-boss theme (something like Moloch's in MK:DA...)

well as much as i think it would be good... it's not likely... especially at this late in the developlment to go try and get someone like that signed onto the team... and enough time to write and compose songs and themes for all the levels etc.... lil late for that.... probalby still have dan... and im hoping it's better then it has been of late.... he's capable cause i loved mk1 and 2's music... but it's been downhill since then.... so alas probably not gonna be much better but im hoping... still though trent could have done a really great job.... would have been interesting to see..... oh well....

Jesus Christ kiddies, Reznor is not anything close to a god. He's like Kurt Kobain. Good at what he does, but nowhere near the status people hold him.
You're right. A god is just a wee but much, methinks.
'Demigod' sounds a lot better. A real deity wouldn't put out remix album after remix album.
That's honestly the one thing he does that pisses the living hell out of me (besides taking six years to make an album). I'll never, ever forgive him for Fixed, or The Perfect Drug Remixes.
He and the band are outstanding live, though. Best 40 bucks I ever spent on a concert.
