Most likely you'll both see different screens. He'll have more characters on his and you'll have less depending on how many each of you have unlocked. I doubt they'll just unlock everybody for you, but I may be wrong.

I think that it will be different select screens for both players. If one has everything unlocked, they can choose from all. If someone does not, they cannot.

I play Socom II alot. I have unlocked all the xtra playable characters in 1p mode, and can use them online. Some of my friends have not, and they cannot pick the locked ones.. It actually says locked over the character.

As far as unlockable stages... I think the stages will come from whoever is hosting the game. So, if they have a stage unlocked that you do not, you will still be able to play on it, but it will not be unlocked on your game.

you probably won't be on the same select screen you'll choose a charactor and then it'll go to a vs. screen wich shows you opponents choice while it's loading
