It's in other threads but after talking to some Oni, they tell you that if a sorceror from another realm wants to summon demon or Oni, (the three headed god) Kochal transports them there. Are you sure that you got platinum koins? I'm only asking because I got onyx coins the second time through the game, and I realized that I only needed to beat Kobra and Kira and then I could use the portal. There is a video here:

Anyway, I was wondering why it would do that. I started (yet) another game, but it doesn't seem to work each victory. Hmm...

what was the video of?

It was of him going into the portal after beating 2 out of the three. The guy in the middle was still standing around and I walk past and get transported back to the start (as usual). So you don't need to "awaken kochal" three times to use that portal (just two). I've posted it in other places wondering if anyone else has done that.
