I dont have x-box like and im gettting MK:D on November the 19th. Is it really worth the experience? Is their lag issues? Cheaters? What is good about it/bad. More info on the online play would be great thanks.

I have to diagree with you guys. i don't know why IGN said online play is so smooth. IT ISN'T. I have played people with the same conncection as mine (comcast high speed internet) and my punches still go through people and I get knocked into death traps when hit, even though my oppenents back is facing the trap. Not to mention the voice support is awful. The online team could have done much better.
Live runs lag free for the most part.
It seems the faster your connection the better your skills will look. People can pull their hits off one after another and I'm lucky if I can once let go of block and get one out before they attack me again.
As for the people on Live, they are abusers to the max.
Mostly everyone online uses 1 combo over and over. They all bum rush you which makes the fight go quickly whether you win or lose. This game is the brokest MK yet and I don't like it unless I'm playing with friends or the cpu.
It's funny, the cpu is actually a funnier and better fight them with people online. That is one thing MK did do rigt this time, the cpu seems normal for once. No more mind reading but yet they can still beat you on higher levels just with pure skill.
Simply put, Live play sucks because of the people. And the lag that I experience is not noticable by looks, it's noticable by the speed of punches I can throw out and what the other person can.
I did a test to see. This gu kept picking Scorpion and used 1 combo over and over. So I picked Scorpion too. He kept doing the one punch combo in Hapkido. So I did the same, for some reason his punches came out faster everyt time even though I just sat there pushing the combo over and over very fast. So there is lag, just people don't notice it because it doesn't show like normal lag.
I'm very disappointed in how MK turned out to be on Live. For the first time that if officially comes out online, people become scrubs right away. People in the arcade were more mature and not little punks.

I cant agree with you more here. I hate Raiden!! All people do is teleport then throw, over and over again.

Of course if you do play online you will ask your self some questions after the match such as:
"How did my oppenent suddenly appear behind me"?
"How come I can't block my oppenents combos, but he can block mine"?
"How did I get knocked into the death trap even though I was nowhere near it"?

I never have issues with lag, I get disconnected once and while thou. As for people a lot of them are lame because their so caught up in their ranks, if I win they quit after one or two matches. Some people just use throws, special moves and the one 3-4 hit combo and block. Theirs also a lot of people on Live who are good and actually play the game the way it should be played. C-Meth you need to find some people online who are good and put them on your friends list. I mainly only play with people on my friends list, if no ones on i'll play random people and for the most part don't have a problem. As for the people were more mature in the Arcades...well i dunno what arcade you went but when i used to beat some people they'd kick the machine and start ranting. The thing i don't like about MK:D Online is the ranking system. I was 130 something and i had won like 12 straight matches then i lose two and suddenly i go from 130 to 812. Thats whack if you ask me. All in all MK:D's online expercience is great a lot of fun, little lag and when you get a good friends list established and always have decent people to play with you'll never grow tired of it...Bring Back Reptile...
In the arcades I used to go to the only thing people ever did was either hit the buttons hard if they lost or cursed, but they didn't curse at the other player. They just said stuff like "fuck" "ahh shit" "fucking lame". Players always gave other players respect. Then again, my arcade was filled with mostly high level play MKers. So we didn't have the cheapers, complainers or what not. Guess I got lucky with my arcade considering I live in Allentown,Pa.
I did find some kool people online. Plus I learned how to deal with the chea people. One easy way is to do the exact same thing back to them.

Can you use the headset and talk? Because I've never heard a thing on there with it. Perhaps my headset is broken.

For the most part the good players will not speak to you because they are concentrating on winning. I don't use the mic most of the time and when I do I just mute it. Unless the opponent has something interesting to tell me about the game or compliments my skills I say nothing. I have heard people call me all sorts of shit while they are losing, this one guy even threatened me. Can you use the headset and talk? Because I've never heard a thing on there with it. Perhaps my headset is broken.
If your skill is good I will un-mute my mic and compliment you. But if I hear BS I will continue to kick ass until you drop me.
Take care
