What MK6 really needs

Most of us are MK fans because of the fact that we've grown up with the story and are eagerly awaiting the next installment, this is not true for new buyers (atleast not for the most part) and this is what MK needs to gain momentum and return as the King of fighters.
MKDA's gameplay was a step in the right direction and I think that the team has enough comments as to what needs to be improved for MK6, so this isn't an aspect to attract new fans because they should already know the gameplay is near flawless (or atleast will be.) What MK6 really needs to compete with the other fighters out there is a graphical update. As much as I liked MKDA I couldn't help losing the sense of realism considering that the fighters looked as if they were made of play-doh. When compared to fighters of the same time frame, frankly it was put to shame, I mean even Tao Feng, a game developed under a much smaller company embarassed a much larger Midway. I mean sure the graphics weren't horrible, but when most people pick up a game or become interested in one the look at screenshots or the back of the box, so if I wasn't a fan of MK and I had of compared it to SCII it would have been a laughable comparison. Not only will this help the game compete with others and possibly draw fans of other franchises over, but it would also help us real MK fans appreciate the world of which we have become so accustomed to.
While not all of you will agree with my opinion I think you should all take it from a marketing view point as well as a possible way to extend the life of Mortal Kombat, because we all know of Midways unfortunate financial situation and the tendancy to scrap games that don't sell well. We won't always be around to carry MK so they need to begin gathering new fans to do what we do now.

I was one of the first mk fans, I played mk1 on a black and white gameboy, then I went to my friends house, and he had mk1 on the super nintendo. I liked it alot, and as I grew up, I didnt need to go to other peoples houses, I knew how "systems" work. Yes alot of things could be better, and youre statement is very well written reptile lord, but I say if you havent played mk early on, you pretty much missed the whole point. Its pointless to talk to a person who wasnt there from the beginning, mortal kombat history is like a shakespear history, you have to read every book.
Yes Reptillord, the graphics could be better, and I have enough faith midway will not disappoint this october. This game will plain embarass all other fighters and for that matter all past mks and can stand to any game, fighting genre or not.Trust me on this one.
As for the people that were there from mk1, (I was 10, and that I think is just about the age when you can actually comprehend video games) Im glad youre one of the few lucky ones thats been there from the beginning reptilelord.

The character models in SC2 i don't like- far too cartoony with disproportioned faces. (big eyes, no noses etc...) How hard can it be to make realistic character models for fighting games? They appear in other types of games.
Actually some of the charchters in mk5 are pretty well done i think- quan chi springs to mind. Sonya's face is just sooo ugly in it though- i have to close my eyes before the close-up.

Actually, Reptilelord, MKDA's gameplay was far from flawless. Just take a look at Rayrokka's what's wrong with MKDA thread. Personally I'm not that much of a hardcore gamer, just a big MK fan, and I haven't had much experience with games like Tekken, DOA, SC, etc. that supposedly have "deeper" gameplay than MKDA, so to me MKDA's gameplay did seem quite advanced, but that's partly because I was raised on the simple 2D MK games. Maybe the graphics could use some improvement, but Midway is trying to draw the hardcore fighting game fans to MK, and that will rely more on gameplay than graphics.

MK6 will probably improve since MKDA was a big step from MK4.I hope they fix one thing in MK6 though:The game felt stiff alot of times when you go to play it especially in 2-player's.The game has to be more loose like MK2 and MK3.
P.S.DOA isn't deep as people say DOA is only around for sex hungry people that's about it for DOA.
