First I'm going to try out all the characters, see who I like best, then go crack some skulls in Arcade mode. In other words, I'll get a good feel for the game, then head on over to Konquest to build my character and unlock all the fun shit.

I am going to play the Konquest mode 1st. Not only will it teach me about the 50% new fighting engine, but it will also fresh out the MK: Deception storyline at the same time.

Since Mortal Kombat: Deception is a fighting game, and the fighting is the main mode, you would think most people would try the fighting mode first to see what's new in Mortal Kombat's staple, which is FIGHTING.
Konquest, like Chess, and Puzzle, are extras, which were added to the main mode, which is the fighting, or arcade mode.
So, ARCADE first. Extras second.

You could also look at it like this. TRAINING comes first before knowing any of the new combos fully. Thus KONQUEST mode will TRAIN you to know these new combos fully.
So, KONQUEST/TRAINING first. Fighting good second.

What will I do first in this game? Well, I think first I'll go into the two-player mode and expirament with the new interactive backgrounds and try to find all of the death-traps and what not. Then I think I'll go into the training mode and practice with a character for a bit, and then finally I'll do Konquest.

It's funny, it's not a complaint guys, how the question stated 2 choices as an answer.

Konquest to figure out what the hell is going on and how things work. That's what I always did with DA. Play Konquest with a character to train and get their story, then play arcade with that same character and get the end of it. Although this Konquest will be very different so who knows.
shit.. u have a point there lol.. k well between the 2-i'd play konquest first..

Um, "the fighting part." Online, right outa' the box.
Edit: For those talking about "training" first, there is nothing that can "train" you better than a human opponet. But, meh...

I'd probably start the fighting part first. Getting to know how the characters fight and move. That makes the conquest mode easier. With MK:DA I first finished the game with every character and when I didn't feel like playing the arcade mode I started the konquest mode. I had tried konquest before, but I found it to be much easier when I was more experienced.
Also Mortal Kombat is a fighting game. So that's the most important part.

That exactly how I feel. Playing the computer or a non moving target can not train u better then a human opponent!!!!

I think i might do practice for a couple of minutes so I can see all the new chars and weapons and stuff. Get a feel for them. Then I will do arcade or konquest depending on which you can unlock the most stuff then I will go online
