Hey, I just made a thread similar to this in the Overall forum.

And I agree with everything you said here. All the styles listed do not fit the listed characters. We must have similar taste.

I've complained about Rain's and Kira's MKA fighting styles in other threads. Zi Ran Men and Yuan Yang are both horrible for these two; don't go at all.

Sektor Kenpo? Nope

Except those two i dont care much. Those were really the ones that hurt to look at.

I agree with almost all of it.

I think Hung Gar fits Drahmin.

About Kira - I think it's better than the styles she had in MKD, but still it doesn't really fit her. I think she should have gotten Ba Gua and Kitana should have gotten Eagle Claw.


Few others that to me don't fit:

Smoke - Judo. What the hell were they thinking?
Cyrax - Ninjuitsu - Sambo was much much better.
Jade - Fan Zi - What a crappy style. She shuold have gotten Baji Quan (Li Mei's DA first style).

I agree for the most part, many characters didn't have fitting styles that suit their appearance and background.

Zi Ran Men - Rain: I think the style looks too feminine and I just can't get over it. I'm not going to say it's gay because Rain's an awsome character, and he could have had Goju Ryu instead of Darrius.

Hung Gar would have fit Reptile. I liked that in Deadly Alliance. Pao Chui is an overall good style with some fluidity (in the game).

Hua Chuan for Stryker seems kinda misplaced, but it's not uncommon for an American guy to learn a Kung Fu style originated from China. Hua Chuan is an Earthrealm style, and well Stryker is from Earthrealm.

Sektor having Kenpo - it's not the fighting style itself, just the stance, it's just wrong. That's not how kenpo stance looks, that pose just looks feminine, once again.

Shinnok with Kuo Shou - the style itself lacks in combos, there's only like 2 combos in the whole style. I prefer to use his weapon stance when I play as him.

Jarek having Dragon style isn't so bad IMO. After all he is a black "dragon". They probably practiced dragon based fighting styles to live up to their name. Dragon looks cool and has great combos/ moves.

Hsu Hao with Sumo - sumo is crap. They should have just dumped that style and given him Shuay Chiao from Deadly Alliance. That was more fitting.
