Being the biggest Sub-Zero fan, I can honestly say that I'm glad they didn't change him too much from DA. I'm not a big fan of his fighting styles, but they work. And look what happened when they tried to take a risk with Sub-Zero's alternate costume! DISASTER! I think they're just playing it safe, because Scorpion is one of the most widely loved characters of MK fans and they don't want to do anything extreme to upset people. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

but still they don't want to get to repeditive, u know. I hated the sub allternet, but the problem their was that they moved way too far from the characters center. They made him so new that he wasn't himself. When i first saw a screenshot a loooong time ago I thout it was Fujin. So they I don't want scorpion to be compleatly different, but still I don't want him to get stail eather. Just do somthing, u know.

I have to say I completely agree with this thread. 100%.
They should had done something new with Scorpion. Every single classic character from the first game has evolved in terms of concept design, but he stays as stale and boring.
Look at Reptile and Sub-Zero. You can never please everyone, but I think (from what I have seen in this board) that the majority has fallen in love with the change and new aspects.
Reptile was the first of the 3 ninjas to evolve, and he definitely evolved for good. Then Sub gets old, then a shredder look, and then a weird ugly bald look (yet new and original). It was perfect.
But Scorpion stays the same.
I do have to admit I’m very happy with his storyline, it was VERY GOOD. FINALLY!!!!! The team heard our screams and they decided to make him interesting once again (even though I dislike the idea of him being THAT in his ending).
I think risks are a must. And a new look and change are urgently needed for this character.
That monster character that’s a Scorpion clone, could had been perfect for an alt costume! I can just imagine Scorpion like that ..AMAZING!

that Monster you speak of IS Scorpion's alt. A certain set of individuals on the Midway team (not sure if they were the marketing or legal or wetf branch) didn't recognize him as Scorpion so they just chucked the costume into Konquest.

WOA wait a minute. i missed something. who is "monster". i have scorpions alt costume and its just "old school" scorpion. is there something else?

no, he's drunk, his alt costume is his MK4 costume

I think spoon means that Monster was orignally designed to be an Alt of Scorpion, remeber the idea at first was 4 alts per charachter... And probably is supposed to be Scorpion storyline wise as well. Complete konquest and arcade with Scorpion and you'll see why.

It sucks that they took out that costume. ITS AMAZING! I love the look. Its probably the best look he has ever gotten, an awesome change!....but they decided to keep it out.....

well sub zero's new costumes suck - the whole albino skin, the fur clothes and the shredder look..............it's gay. he looked awesome in mk:da in his alt.
scorpion's first costume is gay too, but his second is awesome.
i wish the classis costumes would be back as alts. if u dont; like the new look...........go with the old school one. i don;t think people would mind

Well since they made scorpion the champion of the elder gods they should have given him some type of armor with a ninja feel to it. Im not talking about traditional nija suits im talking about like a metal helmet and metal shoulder pads and stuff. the whole hood, kitana look doesnt fit scorpion anymore for his task and he needs a look of athority that also looks menacing. I loved how they brought back his old mk4 costume but that would have been better if they had 2 alts. It would be awesome if in the next MK you could choose whether or not you wanted your characters to be good or evil in that one and then you could get alternates from that. anyways my 2 cents
