I have made a bet with a friend of mine on who won mortal kombat 4 and 5 i would like clarification on who won mortal kombat 4, i believe that lei mei won 5.
in the intro to mk 6 it says that "Raiden was defeated, the deadly aliance was successful." and by that my friend thinks that the deadly aliance won mk 5 well in quan chis ending shang shung was killed and lui kang went in the body of kano, in shang shungs ending quan chi dies.
in mk 5 lei mei was forced to work for the deadly aliance and that lei mei won the tournament but in doing so she gathered the souls that would make the deadly alliance "SUCCESSFUL" and from and they entraped lei mei into the last warrior. from their the whole raiden shang tsang quan chi intro 4 mk 6 came from so Yes Lei Mei won MK:DA BUT THE DEADLY ALLIANCE THUS WAS SUCCESSFULL!!!

Not exactly...
The DA held a fake tournament as a ploy to gather souls of strong warriors, and Li Mei did win it. However, it was NOT what the events of MKDA circulated around.
MK:DA in and of itself was not a tournament. It was a sequence of events which happened to include a tournament of little importance. So really, no one 'won' MK:DA. They all fell.
As for MK4, it's up in the air. Kitana's MKDA ending makes reference to her offer to have him as her king at the end of MK4, implying his ending was canon and that he won.
But at the same time, Quan Chi had Shinnok's amulet in MKDA, possibly implying his ending was canon, and that he killed Shinnok. But the thing is, he ALWAYS had the real medallion.
What I personally believe is that Liu Kang beat Shinnok, and Quan Chi finished him off.

Good points. I thought Raiden might have won MK4 because in his ending, he was given the status of Elder God. And in the MKDA intro he says he relenquished his status as Elder God to return to Earthrealm. But I don't really know, just my guess.

MK:DA was no tourney. No one won it.
And please, put a SPOILER WARNING in the topic, or take the intro info out. Kthxbye.

Whoa. It never stops.
Every once in a while, a thread like this pops up. ''Who won MK3? Who won MK4? Who won MKDA?''.
What the fuck? How could a character 'win' MK4 or MKDA? It was either Good or Evil who won. It wasn't a tournament. When was it said that either MK4 or MKDA were tournaments? Why do people keep asking this question?
I mean, it's just so easy to realize it. It's never said it's a tournament. No ending indicates that it's a tournament. Nothing. Not Rayden's speech, nothing. Everything indicates that it's a war. WHY?!?! WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP ASKING THIS QUESTION!?
