Why are people online SO DARN CHEAP!?!?
MKD is a great game! Of course after playing online, I've come to realize most people try to win by being cheap. Besides Noob-Smoke, the other main cheese is PEOPLE THAT WON'T LET YOU GET UP!
I mean, it gets rediculous sometimes. If you get up and block low, many characters have moves that will hit you while crouching. On top of that, if you stand and block you will get hit low or you will get thrown. What happened to the old MK where you could just uppercut as you stand up and beat pretty much anything other than a sweep.
A lot of people are using these tactics to be extremely cheap when playing. One of the worst cases I saw was this guy playing Ashrah. She has a low kick move that will knock you down if you don't block low. So if you get hit with this, you have to guess how to block AGAIN as you get up. What is worse with Ashrah, she has an attack that pops you up in the air if you block low. So this guy I was playing would basically alternate between Ashrah's low kick and the popup attack which kept getting me as a tried to get up!
I actually beat the guy more times than he beat me, but the point is WHY THE HELL DID THE PROGRAMMERS MAKE IT DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO STAND UP IN THE GAME!?!?!?
If anyone here played Killer Instict, that game had a "POP-UP MOVE" for every character in the game. They could do a move when they got up that would defeat any move and attacker would try as they stood up. Even in Tekken and other 3D fighters, you can do moves as you get up or just roll out of the way. Even in Street Fighter you can do a dragon punch or a similar move as you get up.
....and furthermore, throws don't work if a person crouches. What do you do when you play some guy who just sits there and crouches the whole time. Some characters don't seem to have moves that hit while blocking low. I could have sworn they put in throws for crouching-blockers way back in MK1.
Every character in Killer Instict also had an "overhead" attact that would hit anyone that crouches and blocks. MK needs something like this for every character.
I mean, if you don't play with excessive cheapness, then the game is pretty balanced. I think pretty much every character has great moves and combos. Overall, I probably like this MK the most since UMK3 or MK2. However, it would seem that play testing and stuff would have caused the MK team to realize these critical flaws in the gameplay. YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO GUESS WHETHER TO BLOCK LOW OR BLOCK HIGH AS YOU STAND UP. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO ATTACK AS YOU GET UP TO STRIKE BACK AGAINST SOMEONE TRYING TO BE CHEAP.
I love the game Midway, but please... fix the flaw....

I only read like the first 2 paragraphs... It's called a high low mixup and it is really good in deception. Simple and it works. There's a lot of bullshit in this game. I'm pretty sure this is an explanation for the ratings it gets. I still think the game is fun as hell lol. I dont know how long thats going to last though.

I dont think the game is cheap, a main factor that plays apart in every MK going back since the first game is anticipating moves. Same for Deception, you have to try and anticipate what they are going to do next.
Of couse you can get hit if you are crouched blocking, if you couldnt get hit then what just a player from just sitting there blocking and waiting to counter someone who tries to play the game. That right there is cheapness in its purest.
I would just say work on your skills a little, you'll probably even find a way past cheap people.

^^^ I know what you mean with high/low mix up. But the point of the high/low is to get an attacker head-on. I don't thing the high/low thing is in any game so you can keep the guy from ever getting up.
I'm just saying this to make a point, I actually beat most people who use these tactics, but I usually beat them by being cheap myself. The point is that just about every other fighting game has a move you can do as you get up to knock people back if they try to attack you, or they will have a move to roll out of the way. MKD seems to be missing this, unless I'm missing something?

I agree with you man, but I and a couple other people got crucified for it in another thread. Beware voicing your opinion on these boards.
