this doesn't mean the story is going to revolve around him.... as other people have mentioned before, DA used Scorpion and Quan Chi as the central figures in the early ads but this battle wasn't the central battle. i think they are just answering many people's wishes to incorporate Baraka and Mileena back into the game so they are treating them with a teaser video featuring them.

I always thought Baraka was stupid. He is a good character to have in the game, but not enough to revolve around. Like mentioned, it's just a selling point. Next video we'll be seeing some more characters and nothing to do with Baraka.

Why Baraka?

I asked myself the same question.

You see during my youth I used to be afraid of Baraka, now thatI'm older and still playing MK games I prayed that way I could fight him now that I'm no longer afraid of that sharktoothed freak. So Midway heard my prayers that way I can kick his ass!

People, it is WAY to early to come up with conclusions such as this. It was JUST a wonderful trailer introducing Mileena and Baraka in battle to shock and keep us talking about it.

We are not even 1% sure that they are the main characters. They could be, I'm not saying its impossible, but I only know its way to early to jump into conclusions.

People also ask why would these 2 characters be fighting if they are “friends”. Again, it is just A TRAILER!
