Everyone and there mother is talking about the Halo2 publicity stunt, Ilovebees.com and I hatebees.com It is just a build up to a single player demo. Why can't the MK staff do something like that. It would have been cool to see a fake site where it looks like the Dragon King has taken control. It could have been a great stunt to get a demo of MKD. But no the first person shooters always get the DEMO and the hype. Come on Midway think of something good for your fans. We want the same fun and excitement that others get. Where is are demo and are deception. There could have been a great trailer that lead us to different sites to be decived. It's not to late you guys could come up with something for your fans. All I want is a demo and a fun way of getting it and finding out about it. What a way to get your fans involved into the release. I am still looking forward to MKD more than any other game. I hope the next time they release a MK game there will be more........Hype. DSB

U mean like adding a trailer in the upcoming movies?
That be great but MKD promotes itself.

I totally agree DSB. I am very excited about Deceptions release, but something other than videos, and bios would be nice. Maybe Midway feels that MK already has a huge fan base (which it does) so that is why they focus on other games. Hopefully next time around we as MK fans will get more from the next MK game than just screenshots, and videos. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm complaining, because I'm not. At least we have something from Deception to look at. Just more special stuff for the fans next time would be really appreciated.

As far as I know that kind of stunt are commonly associated with shoot-em ups whereas they aren't with beat-em ups.

Not to mention the fact that shoot-em ups are a more popular gaming genre at the moment, the amount of people who would bother looking at a beat-em up stunt would be a fraction of what the amount of people looking at shoot-em ups would be, so much effort for little pay-off (compared to other games), doesn't seem worth the time when more time can be spent making little improvements to Deception itself.

Besides MK has it's own way of advertising separate from games like Halo.

Hey guys I hear you and your opinions are well taken. But I was just thinking what MKD needs to stay on top. Yes there are more people that play shooters. But if Midway would like to take a slice of the pie,you would think it would come up with crafty ideas as well. Don't you think we need a demo as well? And why is it that shooters get more ads and more air time. No wonder more people play shooters. It's in there face more. There are more promtional trailers and movie trailers and advertisements. Yes MK has a big fan base. 1.15 million copies sold for MKDA. but that was for three systems. Halo has sold double that amount and they are only on the X-box and computers. I think MKD needs more advertisements and promotional ads. For God sakes a demo. I spent alot of time at the midway booth at E3. But all my friends were tring to get just a glimps of halo2. I just want MKD to be more fun to play than a shooter. I just want to see some creativity from Midway, for all it's hardcore fans. There is still time for them to do some crafty deciving. Only time will tell. Thanks for all the posts and comments. DSB

Having an online fan base like shooters have would be a step in the right direction which within a few months will be a reality, members of this site against members of other MK websites, making imaginary clans and stuff, that will help gain more people.

I like the idea of a demo, DA had one so hopefully Deception will too.

I think advertising is a great way to get fans, and fans is what MK needs to stay alive. Sureit has hardcore longtime fans like us, but that isn'tgoing to cut it when comparing to games like DOAU and T5. They need to advertise on TV, Movies, Include Demos on other games etc. If MK wants to get the fans it needs to take it up a notch and advertise a lot more. SCII had a demo, and I played that for awhile, it was great. Plus if they put a demo on a demo disk with other games and it costs like $10 think of how much more money etc. they can be raking in and all the fans they would get. I mean we need demos put in at stores like Gamestop, and target. I played the Demo for MK:DD at Target for about 10 min and it got me even more excited about the game. Advertisement would be a step in the right direction for MK! They got the money, they just need to put it to good use.

-TV
-Movies
-Video game Demos
-Video game Demo Trailer
-Store Demos
-Demo Disks

All that could help!

I don't think they will need to do one. Due to the Hari Karis. The ability to commit suicide in such a violent way should make the news.
I'd really like them to do one though.

DSB welcome to MKO you N00b read the community and FAQ just Kidding tongue Ya I wanted a demo so bad I mean make like 10000000 copies of the one from E3 lol. I would be happy then lol. But I think the game is to big so they won;t I mean chess and puzzle combined could make a game or make 2 seperate games buy there self. All they would have to do is make more stages and characters for it and it would be 2 games itself. I believe konquest also could be one 2 I mean its huge. Idk but I have an idea for the next MINI GAME KOMBAT KART lol. It would own Mario Kart.

Midway should pull off a publicity stunt. They need the advertising. MK:D will have to compete with many other hyped up games, such as Halo 2 and and the new GTA. Weren't there TV spots for MK:DA though?

I think a small ARG, Alternate Reality Game.

There was a fun one I was involved with based on The Matrix:

It was a blast.

Maybe a online scavenger hunt with a few sponsors.

A stunt? Hmm... maybe Midway could send 2 people dressed up as MK characters and they could fight in the middle of times square? Then they could do one fatality we haven't yet seen! YEAH! I hope they do that! lol But they still could do something...

Yea a demo is not looking good for the fans in america. But just like last time the UK should get a PAL version. We will have the game, and everyone over there will get a demo to hold them over. I was kinda hopeing there would be a release at the same time. That way we could all play together. I hate it when games are released in one area of the world first. Japan always gets theres first. Then I gotta go and Import them. Still we need a publicity stunt or two. Oh well here is to the future. DSB

o ya, a MK kart game! good idea. it would be tight to see scorpion using his spear to pull other karts towards him and leave them behind. every character could have a special ability like that.

DUDE!!! THEY SHOULD DO THAT FOR MK7!!! like instead of chess and puzzle!
