perhapss the actual story takes place right after, but maybe in the game as you play with him you pick the story up 1-3 weeks after the fight between onaga, raiden, and the deadly alliance.

it's a commputer game for crying out loud!!!you could have also asked, why did johnny cage get so much muscles, in mk 4 he didn't have as much, and it takes way longer to get muscles like cage has in mk:da.

Anyways, it isn't hard to believe really. Shang Tsung could steal peoples souls, inherit their fighting ability and even mimic their looks and voice perfectly... Yet Bo Rai Cho can't grow a beard in a short period of time?

Same here. I couldn't figure out why I felt he was improved.
And for the last time, MKD doesn't take place immediatly after MKDA. True, the story leaves off after the Deadly Alliance's final battle culminates, but none of us have any idea when actual kombat starts. Didn't it strike a chord in any of you guys when the bios made references about the DK already establishing alliances with alien realms and planning out stratagies against Kitana's armies? I doubt he pulled all that off within the ten minutes after the confrontation with Raiden and the DA.
Also, we don't have any idea how long MK:DA even lasted. My guess is that it took at least six months to a year for Raiden to put all his pieces in place before he made his actual assault.

Now, referring to the topic, what's wrong with him having a beard? If they had gotten rid of it, he'd look like a completely different character. Well, they did kinda do that with Sub-Zero by making him bald, but Bo Rai Cho would just look like the stereotypical fat guy. The beard kinda makes him look more like a teacher, you get me?
