I liked the look personally, as long as it still looks cool, I'm okay with it. In DA, the only look ofhis that I liked was his alt. I was very upset about the whole 'old man' perspective and now I'm glad that he's looking younger again, which I'm sure will be explained throughout the story.

The thing that bothered me about MK:DA Sub-Zero was that he didn't look Asian at all.

He only looks like shredder because shredders costume is supposed to be a samurai. Its traditional samurai garb. Sub-Zero is a ninja right. Ninja=Japanese Samurai=Japanese

well with so many games, cartoons, comic book series coming out - if u make a character there's no way he's going to be 100% original or his name is not gonna sound like some1 u've heard of before. i tried that. made up a character and name and later on i found characters that looked sort of like him, even tho i had no clue when i designed mine. about subzero costume: it does kind of look like shredder, and i wish i knew why he's wrapped up in fur even tho he loves cold. i hope he'll have 2 costumes in this one, just like deadly alliance and that this time both costumes will look awesome. i never really liked the costume when subzero has the mask off and only those pants with the belts that make him look like a lumberjack. his face was old too so it was kind of annoing. anyway i like the new costume and if subzero has some good moves ( and just as many as scorpion - he always falls in disatvantage for some reason)he'll be my fav again and beat quan chi's and scorpion's reputation. MK looks better and better

Ok, I spill the beans on my theory.


In Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance Sub-Zero became Grandmaster of the Lin Keui, and obtained the Dragon Medalion. That Medalion instantly granted him God like powers.

In Outworld Sub-Zero found something out about his heritage. So this is what I've figured out:

Sub-Zero's ancestor (whether blood related or lineage of the grandmaster title, it doesn't matter) was a great warrior king who used the Dragon Medallion to seal away the Dragon King for all eternity, that is, until the Deadly Alliance triggered his return.

Sub-Zero has probably discovered these roots and is showing who he is to the Dragon king, using the ceremonial head gear. Sort of like Aaragorn from Lord of The Rings, how he turned out to be the one person that could defeat Sauron's armies and wore the star of something (I forget, haven't read in a while) to signify that he was the long lost King of the west.

That's my theory anyway. Note that Hotaru, who seems to be one of The Dragon King's goons has 3 enemies, Darriou, Darius (probably both from the same realm) and Sub-Zero? Why just Sub-Zero you ask? Why not Shujinko? or Kobra? Because Sub-Zero is the one who poses the biggest threat. Sub-Zero will win MKD. The end.

I agree w/ ErmacMK5's story. Also, people seem to forget that the Lin Kuei kidnapped children and trained them in assasination. Sub-Zero(s) may not even be asian, he could have been from anywhere in the world but was in China for some reason when the Lin Kuei kidnapped him(and his brother.) The family lineage of Sub-Zero could have Samarai roots in Japan. This would explain the new costume for Sub-Zero as well as why Scorpion and Sub-Zero hate each other once again. Scorpion is a ninja and Sub-Zero is actually a Samarai and the ninjas and samarai hate each other.

well if you want characters that stay the same every installment of the series, just convert into a scorpion fan. I think this is subs best look ever and i give props ot the team for changing his look once again.

It looks like a mix of shredder and magneto(x-men) and I HATE it. When I first saw it I was stunned at how ugly it looked, and the fur doesn't help it out either. I felt better bout it after I saw his alt. because I'm likin it, and I am always happy with a change just aslong as it looks decent. MK has always had some little likeness to other well known things, but this is the WORST. He's even in Magnetos stance, where he's up in the air holding a energy ball,what's that about. It's ok, i'll just have to get used to it.
