First, it's probable that he will be limited in the amount of moves he can learn. Second, most of the moves in MK are almost the same with different dressings. Sub's freeze and Scorpion's spear? In essence the same - both lead to a free opening shot for a combo. Asrah and Raidens push? Same. Hotaru's lava ball and Ermac's slam? Same thing. Not to mention various projectiles like Li Mei's spark.

There are some moves that are original and powerful and might be unfair if combined into a single person. Noobs projectiles that disables blocking and Rain's telekinesis projectile come to mind(esp with all the deathtraps available - but these probably aren't in the game.

I just don't know why people are getting their panties in a bunch.

It's simple - he can be tailored to have the best moves and styles in the game. The fact that he might not be able to have an unlimited amount of styles and moves doesn't change a thing; You won't want more than a few or each anyway. Even if lots of moves are similar, and if the difference between the best and the second best character is small... Shujinko WILL be top tier, there's no way going round that. Pretty quickly, someone is going to come up with a 'recipe' for the best possible Shujinko, and as soon as someone discovers a new combo, exploit, tactic or whatever, all you have to do is make a new Shujinko who is 'up to date'.

I'm not saying the Konquest mode and the 'create-a-character' aspect of Shujinko is bad, but if you deny that Shujinko can and will be the best character, you're just being naïve.

the way i see it is that sujakio is the only bad ass that i think can beat the dragon king. in the terms of story, not actually gameplay

That pretty much covers it.

"Sub's freeze and Scorpion's spear? In essence the same - both lead to a free opening shot for a combo"

You're overlooking the fact that the spear had a terrible recovery time, so in essence, yes both have the same effect, but why would you use the spear if the freeze is slightly safer? If you're playing to win, you wouldn't, which is excatly the problem.

I give it a week before Shujinko Version 8887.5465 is born, and the best special moves to complement his combos are known, thus giving us a pretty much uncustomizable character anyway (if we want to be able to compete, that is).

The Spear and Freeze in MKDA were both horrible.

Shujinko should be banned in tournaments. I've said this again and again. Picture that shit. Imagine MKDA and Shujinko was in it. Pi Gua,Drunken Fist and Crab? Plus you give the puke, hell fire and ground pound(drahmin)? Game fucking over.

Customizable characters are all good in fighting games. In fact they are accepted in CASUAL play, but when it's a tournament where credibility is on the line and you're trying to place as high as you can, you don't want to be defeated because of some shithead who uses Shujinko with all the best styles and specials. that's just gay.

I don't know why am saying this cuz we all know some wiseguy who's gonna try and be somebody will come here and reply to this saying something along the lines of "if you're master you can beat anybody" or "it's still the same stances that the other characters have!" or something scrubby along the lines of that. I say to you just wait till the game comes out. Allow Shujinko in tourneys for a while. Within days there will be a topic on this very board petetioning to official ban Shujinko from tournaments.
