Ok here is my situation. I can't afford a PS3 and really don't want a 360. However, I would actually to try this game, maybe even buy. However, this is not an option because they are only making this for PS3 and 360. Most companies who are making PS3 games also release to PS2 users. PS2 still has the biggest market, period. Boon and company, release this to PS2.
MK vs DC is using the UNreal 3 engine which is a next gen engine only for PS3 and Xbox 360. In order tog et this game out for the Wii and PS2, they would have to completely redesign the game with a different engine, changing gameplay as a whole. So instead of MK vs DC it would probably end up playing like Armageddon withDC characters. Tha's why PS2 has MK Kollection. Hope that answers your question.

yeah.. that would be great.
I'm probably gonna have to get a 360 just for this damn game (and gta4)

I understand, however I feel this leaves out a huge chunk of the market. Because most people can't afford a new system. Especially when we are in the midst of a recession. So people, including myself are looking at every purchase, every dollar they spend. For me as a college student, only making $8.55 an hour. PS3 and X360s are not affordable. My point is that most of the games that are being released have also been released to PS2. It's a system that is durable and has tons of value. I just feel like if Boon really wanted to get the most for his money, then he might consider a 2nd version. Mind you I hate Mortal Kollection or whatever it's called. I feel its a rip off. I already have all the games for the PS2 already. So yeah. That's all I have to say.
Sorry man, they won't take the time to make a seperate version of the game from scratch JUST for PS2 owners, sorry man, It's just not gonna happen, they would have to redesign graphics, gameplay, textures, features, the entire fight mechanic, and basically start all over and do this instead of MK9. Sorry.

If they were really worried about bringing this game to the largest market, they'd be doing what activision does and port it to every platform imaginable regardless of the quality of the game
I actually respect their decision to stick to 360 and PS3 because that way they can make the best game possible.
and dude, if you're PS loyal just take the jump to PS3 you won't regret it, (if your not ps loyal you may aswell go for 360 if money is an issue) you get a free Blu-Ray player, that will definitely end up being useful.
