Why There'll Never Be An MK Shaolin Monks 2

I recently worked on that piece and explained why It's not in NetherRealms best interest to make a Shaolin monks 2 and likely never going to happen. But now I i'd like to have a discussion. Do you think I'm wrong? It's been 14 years. What would have to happen for NetherRealm to pivot and make something like this happen?

I love Shaolin Monks. Best MK game of PS2 era. I actually want a remake, i don ́t know a sequel should be interesting.
