Will alternate costumes be available?

Alternate costumes will be available as DLC... eventually
I wish they'd have included alternates for the characters, but I'm not TOO down about it given the fact that the models look pretty good, at least for the characters I care about. Lack of alternates is also made more forgivable by the fact that this isn't an actual MK canon sequel, it's more just for fun and the hell of it.
I do have to say, though, that at this day and age, lack of character customization in a fighter is something to watch out for. I honestly think the MK Team needs to keep up with the fighting genre's evolution from every possible aspect, not just in terms of gameplay and graphics, but player freedom to interact with the game. Hopefully the next MK will have more of this and will be a real tough competitor.

Hopefully there are alternate costumes. I also hope at least 1 minigame is DLC.

Character customization is highly overrated considering most traditional fighters still don't do it right..

I do hope that costumes are available for download. I'd love to see one of Sonya's classic outfits like her MK3 or her MK4 look. Kitana desperately needs a downloaded costume.

that's a matter of opinion. Character customization is highly overrated considering most traditional fighters still don't do it right..
i think most fighters except soul calibur lets you customize your character fairly well but they do have a good create a character but again matter of opinion.
but unlocking an alternate could also increase the replay value of a game so they really should've included alternates. this is probably the only major fighting game that won't have them.

True, my statement was more geared at Soul Calibur than anything else really.

yeah i figured as much. and while this is probably the first time an MK games quality makes up for the lack of alternates it's never good for a franchise to lack something its competition has.oracle Wrote:

Do capcom's fighting games have anymore than color swaps? MK has those too. And by Capcom's games I mean Marvel vs series and Street Fighter
street fighter iv will have alternates though.

do arcade games usually have that? Street Fighter 4 was released in arcades in July, no word of alts
it's been confirmed that in addition to new characters the home version will include atleast one alternate for most characters.
i read it somewhere, i'll try to find it.
Arcade releases lack any sort of "bonus content" you might expect from a home version. Look at Tekken 6.... which, by the way, has been ready for like, 2 years and is only getting released on consoles september '09. Thanks, Xfuck360. But I digress...
