There is new hype about the Konquest mode in Deception, but most say it doesn't reall allow you much leverage with your personal character development. Should Midway create a MK where creating your own fighter through Konquest mode is possible?

I'm not sure if a lot of people would like this idea. I for one always wanted this. I love creating people in any type of game.

in konquest we can only be a male, obviously, but boon said early on that in mk7, the character will be more customizable. i sure hope so.

This would be cool for multi-player. Fighting characters that others created...

Yah Create a fighter would be wicked. Plus being able to choose your own 2 fatalities.

well I mean ultimately it would completely change the diversity of the game, it would give people the chance to create a unique character, and to use that character against their peers. And it leaves for one to create the perfect character to suit their style...

The possibilities could be endless... I would like to see a create your own fighter feature much like the WWE wrestling games have their own "create your own wrestler" feature... very detailed...

See, I like the idea, but I'm worried, that they wont be customizable enough. I know its asking a lot, but in an online world it wouldnt be enough.
BTW I like it, but it wont happen. There would be no way to tie it into the story.
An annoymous participant in the Tournament defeated the Dragon King, and left forever, no one knew his name. Yup, he didnt have a name, no way to identify him, we cant even say what he looked like. Crazy!

Finally! Someone brought it up! This has been on my mind the past two years. Ever since I saw Sektor in MK Gold and went, "Hmm... what an easy way to make a secret character... HEY! Wait a minute!"
As far as diversity, and people making their own uber-fighters... I don't know about all that. I don't think people will give as much of a crpa about that as they do this...
The main thing that helped the WWE games take off of was that with Create a Wrestler, fans of Wrestlers not on the in-game roster could make those wrestlers. You wanted Bret Hart, you made Bret Hart, etc... I mean no one really cared much about making their own wreslters! Sure, we all made a few, but most of them were usually just goofy stupid guys with colored afros and clown makeup. What we really used create a wrestler for was to make our favorites.
The same applies to Mortal Kombat...
In a game series famous for create 10 characters from 1, if 1 ninja is in the game... with create a fighter, all the ninjas are in the game. You could make yourself a Rain, or a Sektor, or even a Khameleon. No one need bitch about not having their favorite ninja in the game anymore 'cause now we can all have our cheap pallette swaps, and the development team doesn't have to worry about making them themselves.
Additionally, it doesn't have to stop there. Often times create a wrestler would include parts that were obviously meant to make a particular wrestler who didn't make the cut of the actual game. MK could easily do the same. Raiden's not in you say? Well here's his hat! No Kabal? Good thing create a fighter has this respirator and hookswords. You mean we don't have a Johnny Cage? Well it's lucky create a fighter has these nifty sunglasses.
We could potentially have Mortal Kombat trilogy all over again should this handy little feature get implemented, and I for one, hope it does in MK7. (Heck, I hope they surprise us with it in MK6. Hehe :P)
EDIT:
Oh yeah, and who in the heck says it has to tie into the story? It's a fighting game, we're lucky we even have a story in the 1st place. It would just be a fun feature to cater to fans and for people to enjoy. No one says it has to tie into teh story. I'm already surprised Shujinko was tied in so much.
