Will there ever be a Mortal Kombat Tournament again?

I hope there will be, because there will be more depth in the game and better reasons for characters to be in it and there's rules so that means no weapons(I have nothing against them).

Any thoughts?

MK:DA was a tournament. If you don't believe me watch Li Mei's ending.

I agree that it would give a reason for some characters to return Eg. Johhny Cage

When peace is returned completely, and there is no-one trying to invade, the mortal kombat tournaments will probably start again, Each realm will probably host it's own tournament to find it's strongest warrior then they can have a inter-realm tournament to find a new champion of all the realms in case someone ever tries anything. Just a thought.

True Li Mei was in the deadly alliance tournament, but that was not a Mortal Kombat Tournament. It was a side tournament Quan held to get strong fighters' souls for their army.
