In recent years we have seen martial arts more and more through movies, books, and magazines. Bruce lee himself has continued to promote the cause even in death. This game incorporates so many different styles of fighting that this alone in my eyes is an incredible feat. Are there any others that have any opinions on this topic?

My thing is to like, poke somebody in the eye, like shang shung and apologize, then blame it on the game.
this one guy's talkin about pressing charges. I told him it was a joke and he just got all mad about it. what's wrong with people these days?

I used to do Karate Rydo Ryu style I think. I got really good and loved kicking ass, but my damn teacher (sensei) loved pain to much and liked to lay all the students on the floor while he jumped on us to "test our strength", no bull shit, he was a crazy ass mother fucker!
But there was two teachers and one of them was older and more wiser and taught to teach us defence rather then how to cause pain, lol.
Mortal Kombat reminds me of this and hey, when I was younger I could do a Bicycle kick, well about 4 kicks in mid air, lol.
Nick.

Well, it might kick it up a little, as people only are aware of some martial arts, like Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Judo, Aikido. Also, most people think that Kung Fu and Karate are fighting styles, although there are many styles of Karate, and even more of Kung Fu (actually Kung Fu is more a life style, the various kung fu styles have completely independent names that don't even include Kung Fu).
The thing is that not all the moves of the martial arts used in the game belong to the martial art in question. They are just similar to it. For example, there are lots of attacks in both Judo and Aikido in MKDA, although in real life training, those martial arts focus way more on grabbing and pressing weak spots around the body, using very little strikes (like punches and kicks, etc.).
Although, if any of you think they can kick someone in the face in a Karate strike and make them bleed for a while...well, you can, but your sensei/sifu/teacher/master/wtv won't like it. And neither will the guy of whom you break the nose.

I still practise Shotokan Karate (yes, Sub-Zero's style) and I must say the game actually gives me some idea's. If there should be fighting games which make people interested in martial arts, MK:DA is the number one example.
