I have an idea for a new MK character. He uses the art of wizardry, a weapon, and a fighting style. He would look like an old man in a dark blue cloak and he would hold a staff. The staff would be thought by most as a walking stick to make him look weak. Little do most know that he has great powers in many disiplines. ( more will be told about this unknown wizard)
What do you think about wizardry being used in future MK games?

Hmm...Raiden anyone? It does sound an awful lot like him, but if this wizard guy's design and moves were original, sure it sounds great. As long as he's not some fantasy guy and stupid looking.
I think to make this 'wizard' idea work better, the guy shouldn't be old. That would really remind me of Tsung in his early days. Maybe a little younger, but without a cape of course. It would be hard to put one in MK6, unless Raiden wasn't in there already.

Most wizards look old, but this wizard has the power to change into his demonic side. This is because he uses black magic against all that stands in his way. His position in life is not for sure as of yet, but his life is far from over.

I say it sounds like the blue wizard in Gauntlet Legends (It was made by Midway)

This wizard is very clever and can fool his opponents easily. He is not to be confused be other imatations, his style and features are all unique in there own way. At the top of his staff lies the head of a dragon with its mouth wide open. Inside the dragons mouth lies crystal ball, not to be confused by the ones fake fortune tellers use. This dragon head is very small as well as the ball inside it. They are about the size of his fist. Inside the ball lives the power of years and years of ancient spells accumulated over years.

When did Mileena & Sindel become witches?
I think a wizard is a silly idea. MK isn't a Dungeons & Dragons game.

My wizard is not this mystical creature. He is a true fighter and a master at his art. He takes pride in his fighting, the magic is used as a defense to all that pose a threat to him. The magic element in his life is just a bonus but a main part of his life as well. Kenshi uses the telekinectics which, if you think about it, is like its own form of magic. My wizard is a true martial artist at best!

Actually, I was just being sarcastic, but you're right, Sindel does look like one, and she can fly...but without a broom. Oh well.

why a new wizard if we can have a new god
Well, as long as they don't get a Harry Potter cameo in the game, I'm fine with it.
Now on a serious note, I'd actually like a wizard, maybe even introducing a new race or something. He would be young, maybe even underaged, and he would have a request for vengeance...Wait, that's WAY too old. I guess it could be done, if they imagined a nice imaginative storyline for him, something like him wanting to prove himself better than Shang Tsung or something.
About his powers, I believe they could have a little mix-up of witchcraft (element summoning, spells), common magic (flying, disappearing) and wizardry all in him. Of course, that would mean they would have to make a character mostly based on special powers, or make a fighting style based in special powers, but that wouldn't mean he couldn't have martial arts stuff, like using his bat aikido-style, or using some weird fighting style.

To continue on my wizard character, he will be on the side of "good". But at the same time he is seeking long lost revenge on Shang Tsung. This all occurred long ago when Tsung over powered his wizard comrad. Tsung took control over the old man in a betrayed battle to the death. As this fight progressed and the wizard was knowing of his failure, he used a spell on himself. This spell summond the power of a "second life", which made the wizard fake his own death. He now is aiding the mortals of earth realm to get back at the sorcerer. He is also studying many fighting disciplines to aid him even further.

I actually like the idea of your wizard. as i was reading, when u mentioned the blue cloack, it kind of gave me a cool visual of this character and it also reminded me of the previous mk games when the new character were seen for the first time.
