And so does 99% of the site. Boon has already confirmed DC wouldn't be in the next MK.

Yes. And equally DC are better off without MK.
But we did get Alex Ross to draw and paint Raiden and co. for the collector's edition. And it looked awesome.

I really don't see what difference it would have made if there was no MK vs. DC, because to be honest, I think this is the right game to make if the creators wanted to start from scratch with the next game.
So, throw in something that would be odd to see and then create the new stuff.

While everybody wants another true MK sequel (no DC), many people still seem to be interested in a continuation of MK vs DC of some sort - be it another sequel down the road, downloadable content like Quan Chi/Harley Quinn, etc.
However, when I first read your question in the subject, I read it as "Would MK have been better off without MK vs. DC". In that case, I have to answer no. The next MK game will still be the same MK game, whether MKvsDC happened or not. I don't think you'll see any influence of DC characters in the next sequel to MK; likewise, I don't think DC comics continuity will be impacted in any way by the MK game. It was just a fun "what if" type story, that was interesting to watch and was a departure from the norm.

its nice to be original, but not with dc comics. i think they should just create other characters. or change the way you fight. like they brung the fight while fighting, they need to do other and cooler stuff like that and make the quest modes better

I'm that 1% who actually liked it. The specials for some of the DC characters were flat out awesome and enjoyable through replay value (Multiplayer.)

If MK vs DC hadn't happened, Warner Bros., the company that owns DC comics, wouldn't have gotten interested in the Mortal Kombat franchise and bought Midway. Now that they own Midway, we're much more likely to get MK comics and films someday soon.

MK never needed DC in the first place. They started off without them as there own thing, I think the only reason they did was because they were losing money with midway when they went their seperate ways, and thought "hmm, lets try and make some money to save our asses so let's come out with a "T" rated game." Didn't go so well with MK fans and MK veterans (such as myself).

Actually, they had always wanted to do a crossover since around MK3. But, it never happened. Later, they got the oppurtunity to crossover with the DC Universe, but were unsure and later they started liking the idea.
It was something like that.

Please not ^^
That DC-Uncool-Children-Paradise was enough. There is a lack of gore and atmosphere.

I think we owe a debt to DC...
WIthout MKDC, who knows if WB would have seen any potential in MK at all? It very well could ahve been that game that saved MK from damnation. And I still love playing it.
