i agree.. i think he needs both.. one that goes with the story.. and one thats more fan based.. but the rumors we all hear is that hes neither.. hes kinda of a blaze rip off... hmm... but i think theres more than 2 costumes per char.. so theres a chance..

I think his cyborg should be his costume not his nija

Human Smoke by default, new costume as alt.

i prefer the NINJA costume.

If he is getting a ninja suit it definately will not be the same Scorpion seems to be the only one actually retaining the original ninja outfit.

I would like Smoke to be in a cyborg suit..but different from Cyrax's in MKDA. They need to make it different somehow. But the Ninja outfit would be awesome as the alternate. And maybe even a third new look?

This idea is perfect for me! I really liked Cyber Smoke (he was my fav fighter in MK3 & MKT) so I want to see him return in Deception, 3D would be awesome. BUT I 'm also very excited to see the new Smoke concept, it sounds great. So if I had to choose, I think I'd go for the new Smoke, and that's the way Midway will probably make him. But your idea would solve my problem...

Why his alt?
It could possibly be his primary look.

I cant see how it can be his alt costume if he is in human form, or smoke form?!?

But if he is actually a cyber-ninja, he could wear something on top of the shell to cover himself

If Smoke is shown as a Blaze rip-off I'm going on a twelve state killing spree. I mean I don't mind him being made completely out of smoke but if he's like Blaze that would suck ass. I'd like to see him in more of a hybrid of both ninja and cyborg outfits. What if Smoke isn't even part human anymore but full machine with a soul inside? I did like Smoke as a human but I like him more as a cyborg.

I've read, pretty much everywhere it seems, that all characters will have three costumes. That said, I'd like to see a completely new style of outfit as his primary outfit. Use the colors black and grey obviously, maybe black and white, but his primary outfit should be new. My suggestions:

Primary: Baggy black pants with two silver lines down the side, and silver X's in between the lines. He should have japanese wooden square flip flops. He should have one arm be metal and robotic looking (not like jax's, think T2) and that arm should be sparking and emitting smoke. His chest should also have a dark grey robotic portion wear it looks like skin has worn away, again, with some wires exposed, also sparking and emitting smoke.

His other arm should have a black, shiny armor piece, with a black strap (same silver X design as on pants) that crosses the very top of his chest, goes under his other armpit and back around his back, fastening with a large black and silver clip to the shoulder armor. When the strap crosses his back it should have four or five black lines that connect to his pants. Also, he should have a silver flap that starts at the bottom of his back (where his pants start) that goes to the floor, it should have some sort of black design on it).

He should have a black X shaped bandage on his more human looking arm. I'm also thinking it might be cool to give him Sub-Zero's shredder mask, only have it be black and shiny like the shoulder armor I talked about, and somewhat different in the facial design.

Alt 1: A new and better looking version of his ninja costume.

Alt 2: A new and better looking version of his cyber self. I think it'd be cool though to have part of the mask ripped off a little bit, and have it sparking, and maybe the rest of his body might look like he's taken a little damage.

I'm sure this wasn't what you were asking for at all, but I just thought I'd throw my ideas out there. I'm 99 percent sure that there will be 3 costumes per, but if not, and one had to be new and the other a classic costume, I'd say ninja smoke all the way.

Cyborg. Preferably Frenchnavy Blue version of Cyrax from MK:DA.

smoke isn't a robot i have said this before on other threads he is a cyborg so he could be part ninja part machine or have all the metal covered up and dressed like a ninja or he could be the cyborg version

Don't make fun of something just because it's beyond your comprehension. If it doesn't make sense to you now, it will later.

There are a million creative, interesting ways of turning Smoke into a mist elemental.

cyborg with alt ninja outfit.

Damnit.. since he was a cyborg in MK3 he can still have his port for bombs and the lance spear. His clothes cover it and when firing he pulls the garments aside with his hands to reveal it.

His alternates should be one without his helmet and armor (classical), one similar to the ninja only with the mask and armor (cyborg), and a third (if they aren't pulling our leg with the third costume idea) either as a transparent ninja that smoke is his shape/being or half and half robotic sparking ninja.

I think he should be in ninja-ish form(ermac is a good example of ninja-ish) for his main costume, with his alt being the crazy all smoke thingy and the cyborg costume as something really spiffy, a third costume, yes...but maybe in the krypt(they did say their making another krypt, correct?)or perhaps when you beat the game with all the characters or something like that you could get it....

I think he needs new costume, because we already have enough ninjas in MKD ( Ermac, Noob, Scorpion, Sub...). I believe that Boon will suprise us all with Smoke's new look...as with Kabal's....
