I believe you just answered your own question there. "No death traps." But, the only way I could see it being in there is as an arena. Maybe they could take out the spikes and make it a free fall kombat from the bridge to the ground level where the spikes were. That would be pretty cool. And there hasn’t been any official word the pit is an arena or not.

Regardless, I'd love to see the "spikeless" pit from MK2, when the loser would smack into the concrete at the bottom. Ah.. the memories...

yeah. no death traps but, the pit 2 would work....maybe. like in MK2 the pit fatality would result in someone falling on a flat suface, no spikes. so free fall would work.

The Aquaman sketch with the shark looks like a plausible stage fatality!
