Your Ideal Music For MK6... and Your Favorite CD's
Since Boon said in a interview that each version of MK6 will disploit each consoles abilities, the idea of custom soundtracks for the Xbox version are being considered... probably. Anyways what kind of music would you like to hear in the next installment? I would really like to remix's of older songs such as the "Living Forest" or "Armory". If custom tracks are allowed then all of the stage songs would be Stabbing Westward.
By the way, name your favorite Albums so we can figure out what kind of music you would much rather prefer in MK(5 best Albums):
1. Stabbing Westward - Wither, Blister Burn and Peel
2. Stabbing Westward - Darkest Days
3. Static X - Wisconsin Death Trip
4. StoneSour - StoneSour
5. Slipknot - Slipknot
These fucking forums have been dead lately.

I was REALLY hoping MKDA would have a custom soundtrack ability.
I'd want stuff that was fast, harsh, and brutal.
Sic and Eeyore and Spit from Slipknot come to mind.
Dig, Internal Primates, Nothing to Gein from Mudvayne.
Battery and Motorbreath by Metallica. That's all I can think of right now.

About Me
It takes an idiot to do cool things. That's why it's cool.

It really is a shame that not many XBox games feature custom soundtracks. They should really make an effort to add it to MK6.

A custom soundtrack would be nice but IMO, the music in MK6 needs to capture the atmosphere of the kombat zones, storyline, and of course the dark, mystical, mythological atmosphere of MK.

Personally, I really would like some classical.
But for the majority, I'd like to hear some Aerosmith and Queen-style music.

Yeah. I want them to have their own composed music and not licensed music.

Yeah. If they do put some songs from the MK movies, I would like to hear that one song from the first MK movie when Liu Kang was fighting Reptile.

I miss the music from MK1 and 2.. MKDA's music was ok, but there was no rythm to it.. it wasn't anything that wanted to make you fight and get hyper..
maybe they can have some nice beats with techno music, i like techno in fighting games... no heavy metal please, no offense to the metal fans here..

Lets Go Administrators, its lock time.
when i play MKDA i love listening to rap music. HARDCORE GANGSTA rap. Easy-E, Public Enemy, and the original 36 chambah's a' death kid. You can also never go wrong with Astro Creep 2000. On which the best song is "El Phantasmo and the chicken run blast-o-rama".

Gangster rap...Hardcore...damn, that would suck (in my opinion). I have been playing soul calibur2 for quite some time now and i really like the music there. Even though it leans to classical. It gives the game a real mid-evil atmosphere. I think if you put techno or rap or hardcore or whatever in the game you'll loose the atmosphere, and for me that's important.
What would like to hear are the old mk tunes redone. Boost them up a little. because the soundtracks of the first 2 games where the best (again my opinion)

Bands for MK6 eh?
dry kill logic? Aphex twin? Remixes of old tunes sounds good, the birdie song?
Custom made tracks usually work better though (i.e. music made for the game) especially with fighting games, otherwise your listening to the tunes too much! As for custom playlists, that sounds ok, but as long as there is a starting list, otherwise you might not own anything that really goes with the game! oh, and a final idea that just came to mind, is that tracks for individual fighters and their stages in the main story mode could work nicely (real tracks that is, cos obviously this has been done before with a games own music). Just ideas though, not saying they are particularly good, as sometimes the track works in your head, but in practice you can get pissed off with tracks, or they don't work (in Tony Hawk games i usually have to cut down the playlist due to a small helping of poo music)

Metal rules.
Techno owns.
Metal + Techno = Industrial Rock, which basically made up 90% of the soundtracks from the two MK movies.
Forden REALLY needs to bring in a guitar player for the music. He's good at synths and programing the drums, but the music in MK really needs some 'oomph'. There was some synth-guitar work goin' on in MK3 and I heard some feedback distortion (I think) in a level or two in MK:DA, but it didn't... quite... work.
Some of the levels need the synth-only atmospheric music granted, but I really wanna couple levels with tunes that make me go "I wanna KILLLLLL". That's why my favorite battle music from any fighting game was the desert rooftop music from Killer Instinct. We need music like KMFDM's "Juke Joint Jezebel" (the music from the first movie where Sonya Vs Jax) and like Fear Factory's "Zero Signal" (Cage Vs Scorpion battle) That would rule all over the place.
I do hope that they implement the custom soundtrack option for the Xbox version. Beating the crap out of people to Static X and White/Rob Zombie would be completley awesome
Rap and Hip Hop in Mortal Kombat? What the hell? Jesus Christ, no. MK is about ripping out your opponent's spine, not "thuggin". Maybe if a level took place on Earth in an abandoned inner-city or urban area I could see, but I doubt MK6 will. Now that I think about it, there were a couple "hop-hop-sih" tunes in MK3, like The Bridge I think
Okay nevermind, Rap and Hip Hop could work.
