As i'm currently working on a screenplay, I'm thinking of starting another one where one of the main characters is reflecting deeply on a choice he made in his past. So I would ask everyone to think about a choice that you would make that the character himself is trying to come to grips with 5 years after he made it.
Think of where you are right now in your lives and where you wish to be 5 years from now. Think about the relationships that you have with your closest friends and families and how much you want the next five years to be as wonderfull or better than the previous one. Also think about your future as it pertains to a family of your own. If you already have a girlfriend or boyfriend, think about all of those future plans to marry and raise children together. Think bout having a life 5 years down the road where you could be the happiest s.o.b. on earth.
Now once you have that rosy picture in your minds, then think about all the choices that might lead up to where you might be 5 years later. If everything went according to plan, would you regret any choice that you made along the way? And do you think you could ever make a choice that would froever change the life that you would have?
Now that you have somewhat of an answer and a hopefull idea of your future, here's where we draw a tangent to the life of the main character in my story. You're pretty sure that the next 5 years of your life will be the best years yet to come and then your offered a choice in which both 'yes' or 'no' answers will effect your life from then on, but you don't know how.
Here's the scenaro. You're alone and have been injured in a car accident let's say and your life is hanging in the balance. Now it's not clear if you're going to survive your injuries. Then your approached by a person who offers you a choice. Your offered the choice of waiting for an ambulance with a 50/50 chance of surviving, or becoming immortal. The main character in the story is reflecting on the choice he made 5 years earlier to become a vampire, for the thoughts of the other life he could have led weigh heavy on his mind.
