I had just reformatted my PC and I get the problem that was the reason I reformatted in the first place. Every time I open internet explorer I get a grey bar at the top, that I can't get rid of, and a blue bar at the bottom. Anybody share my pain and how do I get rid of it?

I didn't visit anything untrustworthy. I installed MSN messenger Plus, but I got rid of that. I went to a couple sited looking for a Kazaa lite K++ download. That might be it, but I had Kazaa for a long time before I got this stuff back before I reformatted. MSN Plus is my guess, but I got rid of it and... Hmm... I just checked and it seems like the spyware are either gone or mt Norton Internet security has managed to block them. In either case, if they come back, is there anything I could do?

YEAH! Don't download ANY program or application without doing a google search for info about tag along adware or spyware bugs! MSN messenger for example.

Keep your security up and block all pop ups!

And keep your virus software up to date!

If you want to visit 'certain pages', use a public compy! Rather fuck up their computer instead of yours.wink

Some other might have more specific advice, but that's all I can thin0k of right now.

Adware and Spybot are the best ways to get rid of that sort of stuff.

Another thing is: It gives me some type of Error saying something about Microsoft Visual C++, I don't even have the program, and something abut a buffer and then nothing happens, but this error gets rid of the annoying bars until I restart. Any ideas?

Spybot and adaware need to run in safe mode to work fully, it wont get rid of it otherwise also get CWShredder this is also good at getting rid of browser highjacks just make sure all browsers are closed before running it, you said you did a format but it cant have been a full one as that would have wiped it compleatly, if you are going to format dont do a quick format this just wipes all the data and leaves any problems that may be there as they tend to hide in the FAT table/ master boot sector which can only be wiped by deleting the active partition and creating a new one then full format this will get rid of any problem.

Another good program for spyware checking is Bazooka. The only problem is that you have to do manual removal and some processes take a long time-I prefer to do the work myself anyway. The big plus is that it is currently free.

HERE

Sub_Zero_13, do you remember the names of these bars? Currently when I downloaded Kazza it installed a heck of alot of spyware. Also MSN Plus comes with a few adware and spyware which can be located under Favorites on the internet. CWSHREDDER is a good spyware remover and also Spy Sweeper.
